The fried chicken was delicious. We wanted to substitute fries for the mashed potatoes that came with it, but our waiter said no, and we didn't want to pay extra for the fries. We could see why the substitution request was declined - the mashed potatoes did go well with the chicken, but he could tell that we still would have preferred fries, and so he brought us a small bowl of fries on the house. We appreciated that.
Another issue we had was with the timing of the dishes. We had barely gotten our cheese board appetizer when our fried chicken came. We ended up just saving the cheese for an after-dinner snack, because we didn't want the chicken to get cold.
Overall, service was kinda a miss here. Food was good, but the server's strange mannerisms, the way he declined (not even very politely) our request for substitution, and the timing of the meal, made the whole dining experience about 50% as enjoyable as it should/could have been.
We had a really nice meal at Finch & Fork. The restaurant ambience is beautiful and structured in such a way that you will be comfortable in jeans or dressed up for a special occasion. The waiter was attentive and food arrived promptly. The food (prime rib and salmon) was very tasty, beautifully served, and well-prepared. Overall, my birthday dinner at Finch and Fork (complete with S'mores pot de creme) was perfect. We are so glad we stayed on property on a rainy night in Santa Barbara!! You won't be disappointed.
Amazing cocktails and yummy food! We had a great experience and will be back for sure!
we had great service. The food was excellent and we brought our own wine for New Years Eve.
After having New Years fixed price dinners for 4 years and being increasingly disappointed in the service and the food at restaurants near the Granada theater we decided to find a restaurant that was not having a big dinner deal. Found this gem in the Kimpton Canary hotel. It was fabulous. The wild mushroom flatbread was excellent. The kale salad was super. We split the duck breast and the taste was very good but I’m bit a huge fan of duck. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the ambiance of the restaurant. We had a 7 minute walk to the theater which was perfect. We will be back next year. Thank so much to the staff and management of the restaurant for outstanding service.
The service was impeccable. This place is good for a drink, however I would not come for a dinner again, the food is bland at best with unrealistic prices. For example 3 scallops for $34.
The first time I went to finch and fork was for breakfast and it was so delicious me and my girlfriend came back for dinner and had one of the best times and a memory I will cherish forever before moving away from Santa Barbara. I love this place and can’t wait to come back to visit and eat here again and stay In there hotel. The manager was so sweet and saw we had came twice in a matter of a few days so her gave us two drinks on the house which made our night and made us feel so well taken care of.
There were five of us, and everyone’s meal was exceptional. The server was very knowledgeable about food and wine as well as being friendly, personable and witty. The whole evening was flawless and the fire-roasted milkshake was a perfect ending!
Brett was the best!!!! This restaurant truly had the best food for everyone!!
Amazing and unique food!! Everything from the burrata starter, duck, scallops and desserts were amazing!
One of few restaurants open on Christmas. Beautiful decoration and delicious food
We stopped for brunch on Christmas day, on our way up the coast. Food was excellent. The egg white omelette was one of the best; interesting combination of ingredients and fluffy whites. Fruit was sweet and fresh, and the bacon and chicken sausage were especially good. Quick to refill drinks and comfortable leather booth benches. It was a little too cool inside on a brisk day, and service slow on our after-thought to-go order, but otherwise it was great. We'd definitely visit again if in the area.
We had a wonderful experience each time we have eaten here. The food is fresh and and very delicious!!! They also get the temperature and preparation requests perfectly every time! The service was friendly, prompt and professional. The booth are so comfortable and the drinks are creative and so tasty! This is a must try if you are anywhere in the area!
We had a wonderful dinner starting with the truffle mushroom soup which arrived quickly.
We then shared flatbreads and roasted Brussels sprouts. A quickly location for a tourist
But definitely worth a visit
Dinner was delicious! The waiter did an amazing job walking through all the options. Mushroom soup was to die for.
Very over cooked scallops and very undercooked steak
A Santa Barbara gem. Love dining here. Reservations are suggested, but it's never too busy or rushed. Lunch portions are not large, but satisfying. Great flavors.
Everything was excellent. The only things I will say for future reference and not sure if related to the demand around the holidays, we were a bit rushed but other than that, amazing experience.
Thanks in advance.
Short rib was very good, jidori chicken was amazing. Service was outstanding. Great night out.
The service was amazing. We loved the salad with crushed pecans and the New York Strip. We weren't impressed with the brussels sprouts. Could have been a lot more crispy.
Went for a girl's weekend with a group of friends. Great service and great food! The burger was to die for. Smaller menu, so some of the picky eaters had a hard time deciding what to get, but overall everyone enjoyed it!
We just got drinks + apps this time. The cauliflower and shishito peppers. Both perfectly seasoned + fresh + yummy. The place was packed for a Wednesday night, and the service was still very friendly + attentive. Cheers...we’ll be back soon!
The staff were all very nice. The restaurant is located in the beautiful Canary hotel. We were staying at the hotel so it worked out great. The prices in my opinion are way too high for what you get. Meal portions are too small and for the price I would expect it to taste better. They need to bring it down a bit.
We drive up from Thousand Oaks and this is one of our favorites in Santa Barbara, consistently excellent.
The service was FANTASTIC! Food came so quickly! Delicious! Would go back time and time again!
Incredibly thoughtful and caring staff, from host to waiters, able to anticipate diners’ needs and provide suitable recommendations.
Each dish was beautifully composed, flavors were well balanced, portions were appropriate, and everything was cooked perfectly.
Expect to be cared for and to leave extremely satisfied.
We had a lovely birthday dinner with amazing food and the best friendly and attentive service we've encountered at a restaurant in a very long time. Salmon dish was perfectly prepared and we were lucky enough to be there on Prime Rib Sunday, also prepared perfectly for my dinner date. We will be back!
Great meal...fantastic service!
Service and food were excellent. My only recommendation would be for them to turn up the background music a bit. Granted, the neighboring table was occupied by a particularly loud individual but we could hear most of the conversation at both of our neighboring tables. It would be nice to have a bit more audio privacy. Thanks for the great food! The Jidori chicken was a huge hit!
Great food and service I had the New York strip and it was cooked to perfection
The lamb shank was very good. The meat fell right off the bone. My wife’s dish on the other hand was not so good. She ordered the braised short ribs and they were so tough that after dinner her hands were sore from trying to cut the meat. She ordered a cocktail and I ordered a Modelo. The waiter brought back her cocktail and 5 minutes later asked her how it was. The waiter didn’t even bother to ask me how my beer was because he totally forgot I had ordered one. It was my first time eating there and definitely my last. The meals didn’t come with bread or any kind of salad. You would think for charging almost $40 a plate that the sides would be included. After we left I had to order more food from another restraunt cause I was still hungry. The website was definitely deceiving. It showed a bunch of different dishes but their dinner menu had about only 8 to choose from. So from poor service to small portions of food that are a hit or miss I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. 2 thumbs👎👎
Great place! Will come again.
Great food, great service. Would recommend to anyone in or visiting Santa Barbara.
The restaurant was very nice. I ordered duck medium and it was medium rare. It was very good, but should have been prepared as ordered. My husnad’s chicken was very good. The desert menu needs a little work. The wine list was good.
Amazing service, delectable food, and and overall wonderful experience. Creative cocktails and fun vibe.
Such a great restaurant! Terrific service, excellent food, wonderful "vibe", it was a wonderful meal and evening! Went on a Friday, so the Lamb shank special was ordered and devoured. The sea scallops were tender, flavorful, and not a speck of sand to be found (a rare event!) Our server, Eric, was delightful. Great suggestions, really helped guide our meal. Can't wait to come back!
It was extremely loud so we decided not to stay to dinner. We had cocktails and left.
