Final Cut at The Hollywood Casino Ratings and Reviews
We were very disappointed.
The service was extremely slow.
The brussels sprouts were scorched & tough. The lobster tail was cold, as was the melted butter. The waitress never offered my husband a refill. We were waiting to speak with the manager, but she was busy dealing with the table next to us who was also extremely disappointed with tough lobster that was cold. We waited a long time but we're unable to speak with the manager because we had a concert to attend. Very dissatisfied after spending almost $250.00
This was supposed to be a special dinner to celebrate my daughter's engagement and we were completely dissatisfied .
Excellent Wednesday evening. Started in the lounge with a couple glasses of wine where Carolyn was excellent. Went into the dining room for dinner and we had a fantastic dinner. Split the wedge salad (cuz it's that big) then my husband and I split the 12 ounce filet and shared a giant baked potato and the Bourbon creamed corn. Everything was delicious. Service was excellent -- Robyn was our server and Danny was her assistant, they could not have been any better. Best steakhouse in the area by far.
When we spend this kind of money for a meal, I like to be greeted by name and made to feel special. I was led to my table and handed a menu before we were in the booth. Our server was adequate. Now to the meal. Food was outstanding. Everything was prepared wonderfully. Service again failed when we were queried about desert. Upon declining, check was already finalized and placed on our table in one fell swoop. Food 5 the rest 2 to 3.
The Final Cut is a hidden gem for those that like EXCELLENT steaks, comfort-food side dishes, friendly service, and a well stocked bar. My wife and I ate there last year and really enjoyed it. Shortly after that, I had three buddies visit from out of town and took them there . They all said it was outstanding! When I recently agreed to host another get together with them, they all insisted we pay the Final Cut a return visit. After the meal, they reconfirmed it was one of the best steaks they'd ever eaten! The bourbon creamed corn was a hit, as well. We'll be back!
I have been to Final Cut many times over the years, but this last time was truly exceptional. Everything was made to perfection and I also appreciate the manager stopping by every table to make sure the meal was up to par and that she was open to all criticism (even though we had none).
Couple items were not cooked properly, the bacon appetizer was under cooked and the steak was over cooked. They took off the bacon and re cooked my steak to perfection. The server was very knowledgeable and Casey the manager came over and took care of us. Overall it was good, would have been a better rating but a few miss steps prevented that.. One side note, I understand some items are market price, but for staple items come on.. you should know the price.
Food was outstanding, but service was lacking. We had to wait a very long time for drink refills and our check. We actually got up from the table to find our server to find our check because we waited almost 30 minutes for it after giving her our credit cards. We went and found the hostess to try and track down our waitress. The hostess was a younger lady who was very rude and told us with an attitude that they hadn't been that busy in a really long time. Our waitress was very apologetic for the wait once we found her. I would considering dining here again, but the hostess definitely left all of us (party of 6) with a bad taste in our mouths.
Given that this steakhouse was in a casino, I didn't set the bar high on expectations. However, it exceeded our expectations by a long shot. The corn crab soup was delicious and the steaks were right up there with the best of the best. We are very picky on steaks and they didn't disappoint. In addition, the staff were all friendly and accommodating! I can't wait to go back!!
My wife and I always get the New York strip steaks and I get the grilled Brussels, both wasn't to par this time. The worst overall food to date after many trips there over the years. Food was more like a cheap steakhouse quality this time. The steaks were low quality cuts not greatly prepared and Brussels WAY over-cooked to the point they were shriveled up and burnt, someone went to sleep or took a break while these were cooking. We expect a better quality for the price and it normally is. The cook staff preparing the food this time wasn't up to snuff. The service was adequate, not great.
the food and service was great they need to do something about the smoke it was so bad we even tried to go to the basement and it was worse then upstairs the smoke was like it was being sucked down into the casino we had to leave and in the restaurant they had smoking in the next room and it would blow in the non smoking room need to close the door
We had another excellent dinner at Final Cut !!! What a fantastic restaurant with excellent service and delicious food. Our server was Rick and his assistant servers were Dan and Amber and all three were excellent. We shared a wedge salad, yum. And we split a 12 ounce Filet with the blue cheese butter melted on it. WOW ... steak was so tender and delicious. We also shared a baked potato and the grilled vegetables. Everything was absolutely perfect. The servers and the support staff/assistant servers are just unbelievable, if you want a night of excellent service and fantastic food -- you won't be disappointed at The Final Cut.
I've dined here in the past and the food was always good. It has been 8 months or so since my last visit, and the food quality has dropped a bit. We had the caesar salads which were fine. The entree was the New York Strip with a side of mac n cheese and a jumbo baked potato. The mac n cheese used to be a large serving that was served in a cast iron dish to keep it hot. It is now about half the size and is served in a normal serving dish, it was not as good as it used to be. The potato was a bit hard inside, needed to be baked a bit longer. The steak was nowhere near the quality or taste we have had in the past. So lacking in seasoning and taste that I had to ask for steak sauce to give it some flavor. Also we asked for medium well, but it was really over cooked around the top and bottom of the steak so it was a bit tough, overall overcooked. Not the best dining experience I've had here. For the price you pay the food quality and taste should be better. Doubtful I will return, the price is high and the quality is lower than it should be. On a positive note our server was friendly and did a nice job.
The staff there is always friendly from the front to back. The hostess greatest us made us feel welcome then Daniel, the server's assistant, came up right away and greeted us poured water in our glasses and asked why we were there. I told him I was bringing my mother there because it was Mother's Day and he told my mom how lucky she was to be there. Our server, Scott, was very knowledgeable about the menu and actually made a couple of good suggestions that we took. I had the bone in filet that was marvelous. In the top five of steaks I've eaten and I'm in my 40's and have had several thru the years. Overall it's the 3rd time I've eaten there and it would be hard to find a place that could beat their steaks(imo) and I've never had anything on the menu that wasn't delicious.
