Final Cut at The Hollywood Casino Ratings and Reviews
Starting with the good: The food was perfectly acceptable, if a bit overpriced. We had the tempura shrimp appetizer. The shrimp were huge, the sauce was tasty, and the slaw was a pleasant surprise. For dinner, we both ordered filets. At $40 per steak, plus $3 add-ons (bernaise and horseradish sauces), these were overpriced, but the high point of the meal. The steaks were well prepared, well seasoned, and perfectly cooked to the temperature we ordered. The bernaise was perfect, and did not shy away from the tarragon, which is often a problem with bernaise in restaurants. The sides, while nothing special, were fine. We had mashed sweet potatoes (we wished the menu had mentioned marshmallow topping, as we would have foregone that) and asparagus. Both were exactly what you would expect them to be. Again, priced rather high at $8/side, but we were not unhappy with them.
Honorable mention on the good front goes to the busser, Danny. Danny was friendly, and pretty on-the-spot with the water, which was a good thing, since our waiter was nowhere to be seen.
The bad and ugly: It would be easy to say that the service was horrible, but that doesn't really do it justice. When you are paying prices like what we were in this restaurant, you expect a certain level of attention. If you have an empty glass, you expect that someone will offer to get you a full one. If you order food, you expect that it will arrive in a timely fashion. Our waiter, Rick, took approximately 10 minutes to even arrive at our table, and another 10 - 15 for our first drinks to arrive. By the time our steaks arrived, and we both wanted our glasses of red wine to accompany them, Rick was nowhere to be found. Our steaks were cold by the time our glasses of wine arrived, and we received scant apology or even acknowledgement of his absence from Rick once he deigned to join us.
I would absolutely NOT recommend this place to anyone. Go to Jeff Ruby's. Go to the Precinct. It's worth it.
Very weak wine list.
Out of the first two bottles I ordered.
Forgot to bring the crab legs with the meal. Server didn't return until we were almost finished then said it would by 5 min until she could bring them out.
Basically they brought the crab legs out for desert. They weren't good at all.
Have been to Final Cut many times. This was by far the worst experience I had there.
The waitress was ok, not great. Our filet was overdone and tasted like beef roast. We will not likely come back again for what we spent we could have gone to another steakhouse and had a much nicer meal, I can say we were not interrupted alot so we had alot pf time to talk, take that any way you want.
Very dissapointed had a 9:30 reservation for 3 9/24. I brought my 2 daughters to celebrate what would have been my late mothers 101 birthday. As we told our waiter he could care less. We asked for water i t took forever. The girl who brought us bread practically threw it on the table no eye contact. Food was ok but service terrible. You could see they wanted to go home. My mother would have been dissapointed. As my daughter said we did not feel the love.
We came here for a girls' dinner. We had made reservations but it didn't appear it was necessary. The place was not busy at all. The dining room was very pretty but the addition of Tvs on the wall took away the atmosphere a bit. Our waiter was nice but did not attend to us that well. I ordered a bottle of wine as I wasn't sure that my glass would be refilled in a timely manner. I had a tomato salad which was essentially a Caprese salad. The balsamic was super salty and I could not finish the salad. The filet was quite good and prepared properly. I thought the sides were a bit bland for a high end steak house. The bread was super delicious though. All in all, it was a mixed experience. If you're going to be at the casino and celebrating a special occasion, this is where you'd want to go. But I've had better steak house experiences and the cost was quite high.
I wanted to have a glass of wine and a quick appetizer. We attempted to go to the bar and there was no bar tender present it was also very smokey so we requested a none smoking table which we got. The service was not good I feel like because we only ordered an appetizer and drink the server didn't care. He could answer simple questions about wines by the glass and took forever to even get us drinks. The only saving grace was the server assistant and food runner.
We eat out a lot, and I mean a lot. I will say we had one of the best meals we have ever had anywhere here. Not one of the cheapest, but absolutely one of the very best, no doubt about it. The tower of chill was an experience I can not even describe. We split a rib eye and I don't know what they did with it but whatever it was they deserve kudos beyond belief. The taste and flavor was like nothing I had ever experienced before. The Final Cut reinforces what I have learned in life, you get what you pay for.
Most of our food was good. We did not enjoy the green beans. The service was extremely slow. It seemed like they were missing a couple of people. We noticed one waitress that smiled. Not ours. Everyone else seemed to be frowning. We thought that the prices of the food were very high.
We have eaten at other high-end steak houses in this area and other states, and Final Cut is our VERY favorite. The quality of food and excellent service are the "best"! They allow us to split sides and salads. Portions are large, presentation is wonderful. Can't wait for another visit!!!!
The food was okay. I got a $60 ribeye cooked medium and it came out well done. It was burnt on top and there was no pink in it at all. The calamari was not great. I have had better for a lot cheaper. The mac and cheese was just okay too.
The one thing we really did like was the bacon appetizer. I would recommend trying that.
We had an awesome experience at Final Cut .. it was a slow Wednesday evening and we started in the lounge area with a glass of wine. Nikki was our server and she was absolutely awesome. She even got us set up (and escorted us) over to the restaurant to our table. That was really nice. Once in the dining room Stephanie was our server, she too was an amazing server. We cannot leave out our assistant waiter, Derek, who was also excellent. Our food was fantastic. Wedge salad, the best steak ever and baked potato. We'll be back. The service is so incredible at this restaurant, only to be outdone by the delicious steaks.
This was our 2nd trip to Final Cut. The food was delicious both times. We had a gift certificate both also. I would not pay the price you charge for a dinner . Although it was an amazing experience it is still just dinner. Our server was wonderful during both dinners, the atmosphere was very nice & romantic, we enjoyed it a lot.
