The food is good, fish was fresh, and it seems like you can actually get a seat!
Personally I think the pricing is a bit better than Guu, and they always have drink specials!

If you want to bring a date around mid town, this is a great fun place to chit chat.

On the flip side, I brought my dad and family for his birthday!

Nothing special about the food. I think they are better when they first opened. Also the service was better before. For example when we order the small hotpot, used to have ppl came looked after the hotspot and cook and serve but when they are busy , they just completely forgot about us ... Kinda disappointed .

I took my birthday friend there for dinner. I talked to the receptionist about my friend's birthday when arrived. She said she was going to bring a cake by the end. Nobody came with the cake and I don't want to remind our waiter in front of my friend.

We were stuck in a small room on the back. Few time, I have to come out to find my waiter for order. Food was amazing and the service was a disappointment.

We ordered the BBQ Snapper, it was quite disappointing though.............no favor and tasted like the frozen fish from the refrigerator.

We found quite salty on any dishes this time. We visit here not so often, more like twice or three times a year, and we always enjoyed coming here. However, we thought we might have to look for another restaurant next time.

Initially went with a friend of mine for tapas. They let us order off the dinner menu at lunch when it died down. The food was great, service is good. Overall a great place to chat and eat good food. The place opens at 1130am -4pm for lunch which is great !!
Recommend for sure!

Authentic in taste and atmosphere. Servers are attentive and quick with orders, serving, and distributing of dishes. Food is delicious. The table grill (oysters and scallops) were a pleasant surprise. Cannot go wrong with the lobster+clams hot pot special, nor the blow-torched mackerel. Atmosphere is great for close friends and family. Will definitely visit again!

Fin Izakaya was recommended to me by a friend. This occasion was our second visit; first time was as a couple, second time was with another couple. I love the atmosphere at this place, loud, energetic and fun! The food is good and interesting with lots of variety. The portions are small and I found the prices to be on the high side for the amount and quality. That being said, the cooked entrees were delicious, particularly the hot pots and the seared angus steak. In my opinion, the sashimi there was mediocre quality and small portions. The octopus balls are also delicious, but again, small portion. We also ordered the deep fried shrimp and I was disappointed to find out, after having put one in my mouth, that the tails were still on and invisible since being covered in batter. The service the second time around did not compare to the first, which was very attentive. Additionally, we travelled from Bloor West village to this location first time by car which was a disaster since Eglinton is full of construction and is an absolute mess. The second visit we took TTC and it was much more accessible without the hassle. All in all, Fin Izakaya has pros and cons, try it once for sure. After 2 visits, we won't be returning however.
