Really enjoyed the food here but the serive was a bit irregular..long delay between appetizers and main courses. Music is way too loud...louder than I recall in the past.
The Black Cod was outstanding! I loved this restaurant
Food was terrific. Service was warm and attentive.
Attentive service and very good food. The bonus is that we had a corner table and were able to carry on a conversation.
Found this place looking for an early dinner close to LAX before our evening flight and will definitely go back next time in LA. Interesting, delicious food with great cocktails and service!
Food was awesome. The whole staff was amazing even though we got there near to closing time. We had a great time and the drinks were on point! I recommend 100%
Fin is one of my all-time favorite restaurants due to their fantastic food and great service.
The special wasn’t available and it was still on the menu. When I asked why it wasn’t available they couldn’t give me a reason
I've been going to FIN for a very long time. The food is delicious! But if you have a reservation at 6:45PM, don't expect to get the Happy Hour menu -- ask for it -- then the waitstaff gets a bit squirrelly, looking at their watch to see that it is indeed before 7PM, then they will come back and say you have to be quick because the computer will automatically change over at 7 and you won't get Happy Hour pricing. It's all a bit awkward and weird (it's happened twice now). At most places I've been to when you sit down before Happy Hour ends the waitstaff will just say - hey, let me know what you'd like and we can get that order in before Happy Hour ends. It comes off very nickel & dime-like at FIN though. We ordered a bunch of HH items but also ordered off the regular menu as well.
Never disappoints. Yummy variety for every pallet. Lovely staff. Green beans are the bomb!
I love this place always in my back pocket when i need a place to recommend. The last couple of times the music is so loud I can't hear the person on the otherside of the table...add other patrons...it can be trying.
College spring break dinner for son and friend
Love this restaurant! Definitely a neighborhood gem that's worth the visit. I've taken 4 different sets of friends to Fin and they've all raved about the variety and quality of the dishes. The lobster glazed gyoza, asparagus wrapped asparagus, and the albacore sashimi starter are always delish! Get the filet with truffled mash entrée and you will not be disappointed. My friends had the crab fried rice, the lamb chops and the salmon....all simply amazing. Service is always outstanding and Jessie the bartender makes the best cocktails."
!!!👍🏼!!! Great service and friendly staff. Quality cocktails. Delicious food. Cool speakeasy in the back.
I wanted to go to this restaurants and I finally did. Food, location and server was amazing!
I like Fin but I think we came on a very busy night and they seemed to be extremely understaffed. I think out waiter came around twice and the manager did most of the work. Our food took FOREVER to come out but it was delicious when it did finally arrive. It was a poor choice for an anniversary dinner but the staff did everything they could considering the circumstances. They gave us a complimentary drink during dinner and a complimentary drink to come back later at their Alley bar.
All the food was excellent! We had several small plates to share including several from the happy hour that were superb (and a good value). Unique preparations of several classic tapas dishes really made it special and the quality ingredients were very fresh.
As always, the food was delicious. It seemed like our waitress felt like she was doing us a favor by speaking to us. I hope we don’t get served by her again because it really negatively impacted our evening.
Delicious and creative cuisine. Great room and attentive service.
Miso Black Cod highly recommend as well as the Lobster glazed beef!!
Fabulous food! Everything we had was delicious. Wonderful service too.
You should come here with at least 3 people to try as many items as possible. We loved everything we ordered but among our favorites were the cucumbers, gyoza, yellowtail sashimi, and the lamb chops. The chef is fantastic. Cameron provided phenomenal service. I also got a steller mocktail from the bartender that he made with muddled fruit. A really great night out for all of our group. Thanks!
FIN is a great place for casual and inexpensive dining. Enjoyed it!
Absolutely fabulous! The food presentation is spectacular and the food tastes as good as it looks. Specialize in sushi type dishes but have many choices for non-sushi eaters.
The food was excellent, but the service was extremely poor. I had to ask for my drink 3 times before it finally arrived and it took forever for each dish to come out, then finally 3 dishes came out at the same time because they were close to closing. We were there for over two hours because our food was so slow to come out. I also informed our server that my wife had an avocado allergy but everything still came with avocado.
Exquisite and attentive service - well prepared meals and generous portions for small plate offering. Would highly recommend.
food was mediocre at best (worst ribeye ive ever had) and the service while friendly was very slow. I wont go back or recommend.
Love this place, unique and everything is well done
My guest and I were warmly greeted and immediately seated upon arriving to our reservation. We ended up ordering the DineLA three course dinner that offered dishes such as tiger prawn tacos, gyoza, and spicy tuna crispy rice (fantastic). The waitress was extremely friendly and patient while we looked over the menus. The drinks arrived fast and clean. The music softly played a nostalgic mix of late 90s and early ‘00 hits. It was the perfect setting for a modern, low key but exciting first date!
Overall it was fine but very loud. Service was great. We loved three out of five dishes so would return for those. It’s a bit pricey but a good find.
Came here for DineLA which was a great deal. The server and hostess were polite and not overly pushy/attentive. I also ordered a cocktail which was a lovely addition to the meal. My entree looked and smelled amazing, but I liked the sides more than the main dish. A meal can be made of appetizers alone. Would go back with friends or a date.
The chef seems to have a sweet tooth as many of the savory dishes are quite sweet. I found it overpowering and a bit monotonous. Nevertheless, the food is good.
My salmon was rather well done and the server took it back to be redone without a fuss. Water glasses were kept filled, though empty glasses and plates sometimes sat on the table.
DineLA Winter 2018
This place is good if you want a loud and energetic scene with people watching (standing room only). As far as business dinners go, it was too noisy (surprising for a Monday evening). However, for the DineLA selection. I chose their version of spicy tuna over crispy rice with a jalapeño on top (taste was good/fair), 2nd appetizer option was essentially a california roll (with real crab, allegedly). The last option I chose was a skirt steak (done rare)with mashed potatoes. I was pleasantly surprised that my steak came out as well as it did for a non-steakhouse. Best to come here with a group or happy hour. Food is decent to good.
The food was tasty. Service was average. The wait seemed a little longer however the restaurant was packed for dinner. My favorite was the chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream. I could have ordered 2 of them !
Love this place. Came for dinela. Will definitely be going back. So many selections and all are good.
Service: Mondo was super attentive without being annoying and built rapport to be able to personalize his recommendations to us, including the sake choice. Lastly, he invited us over to check out the alley lounge behind the restaurant. Loved him!!
- Tuna Jalapeño Crispy Rice - yum!! One of my favorite items and this one was on point.
- Tiger Prawn Tacos - the meat filling was great but lacked the balance of a taco without anything fresh or sauce.
- Grilled avocado - curiosity led us to try this and it was just ok.. like the prawn tacos - wish it had something citrusy or fresh to add layers to the grilled avocado flavor.
- Rock Shrimp tempura - perfectly crunchy and balanced with creamy & spicy - nothing special though.
- Salmon - perfectly portioned, cooked, and the sauce was the best. I munched on this until the end.
- Lamb chops - the meat was seasoned with rosemary & cooked perfectly to have the sweetness from the sauce and herb from rosemary dancing in your mouth. Masked potatoes were yummy as well .. though too much for my taste, would’ve liked some seasonal veggies to go with it.
Overall: would go back for the entrees and service for sure!!
My second time there. First was wonderful. This was a complete mess. A lot of blame being explained about Food LA menu and delays and generally just not good at all. I’m very easy, and I don’t ever write reviews, but I felt that strongly about this meal. I hope you all get it together as the first time was great.
The baked crab roll is the best ever, our server Tara was great. Will come again
Had a very enjoyable dinner with my daughter. We shared our meal totally and it was very good. Will come again.
Loved the food! Excellent service! Sit in the back room for quieter experience.
Excellent crispy rice
