Fantastic flavors, phenomenal experience
Excellent for the Christmas holidays
Wonderful food and holiday decor
Loved the food & decor. Great service. Authentic Italian experience.
In anticipation of visiting DC, I made a reservation; I had eaten at Filomena's 20 years ago and remember the food . I finally returned and the food was as spectacular as I remembered. Last time, the place was decorated for Halloween; this time, they decked the halls, ceiling, etc. for Christmas. It is much more expensive than I usually spend, but worth it for a special occasion.
We were seated at the table right next to the kitchen and waiters kept on bumping my chair. Worst location if the restaurant. I am not going back.
Fantastic meal and service as I always receive from Dino and his staff at FILOMENAS!!!!
And as always a beautiful display of holiday decorations throughout the restaurant.
Best place to eat in DC Metro area! Must try the risotto.
The decorations were great. And the food was delicious. It will get full, so get reservations!!!!
No trip to DC is complete w/o lunch or dinner at Filomena’s. Food is always superb, wait staff is friendly, efficient and genuine. Excellent menu selections and it’s all very good. Shame on you if you there and don’t try it!!!!
We enjoy coming here with family and friends. The food service and ambience are amazing. The large portions helps you linger on the food to relish it and enjoy some for lunch next day. We had sea food pasta and veal Marsala, both were excellent.
A great place to eat a truly authentic Italian meal! Food portions are very generous. You will have leftovers! The ambiance is fantastic and the staff are excellent. Dessert is a must along with some espresso or cappuccino. Highly recommend!
I don’t trust people who don’t like Filomena’s.
Great place for a special dinner over the holidays.
Visiting our son and celebrating my husbands birthday!
Outstanding food and service. A bit crowded and loud. We’ll be back!
Filomena has the best Italian cuisine
I have ever had. Being from the New York City area, and having dined at innumerable restaurants, that's saying a lot. The atmosphere is great, portions are HUGE ( more than enough to share and take some home). Every entree' I have had and every appetizer are phenomenal.
We visited Filomena while in DC for the holiday season. Food was great and authentically Italian with large portions so definitely see why this restaurant has been popular since the '80s. Restaurant was also nicely decorated for the holiday season to assist in getting in a festive holiday mood. Staff was prompt, friendly, and timely given that the place was totally packed. Only downside was that we had a Sunday evening reservation for 6:30 PM and didn't get seated until almost 7:15 PM with the waiting area being small and very cramped. We would definitely would visit again, but would try to pick a better time window to avoid the holiday crush.
Filomena Ristorante has become a favorite go-to restaurant for special occasions. The food is always excellent and the service is impeccable. The food is authentic Italian that could rival my grandmother's cooking. Actually Filomena's is the only restaurant where I will order meatballs. I have never found another restaurant that comes close to homemade and have given up even trying. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Be sure to save room for dessert. Best Cannoli ever!
No access for the disabled. I would love to bring my parents, but they can't do all of the stairs. For my self I love the place.
Our favorite restaurant. Reminds me of my grandmother’s cooking.
Love this place
We Couldn’t get a reservation till 10:30pm. To say the least, it was absolutely worth it! Ambiance and atmosphere was amazing. The staff and food cannot be outdone!
Favorite restaurant in DC, especially for special occasions and during the holidays! The Christmas decorations, the ambiance, the food, and the quality of service is top notch.
Decorated to the hilt for the holidays. Fun, vibrant atmosphere but hard to hear at times.
I have been coming to this restaurant since 1984! I've also introduced new friends to the wonderful delicious food for as many years! This is my favorite DC restaurant!!
Celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Filomena’s since we’ve enjoyed so many fabulous meals here. It never disappoints. Amazing wine, food and festive atmosphere❤️
It was absolutely delicious!
My wife and I enjoyed every minute at Filomena....we enjoyed the decorations for Christmas, the table we got, our waiter was fun and knowledgeable, the location by the canal was easy to find and the food.....from our arancini to start to the rigatoni with sausage and the ravioli with meatballs to sharing an éclair....it was AMAZING! As a person who makes sunday sauce, theirs was fantastic, as were the meatballs and sausage, of which I also make myself. I will go back anytime we are in DC.....
Decorated beautifully for Christmas. Very festive. Didn’t realize no lunch time salad bar during month of December.
Food was outstanding! Wine list was very nice. Could use some more moderate priced bottles or exceptional half bottles. The service was outstanding!!! Anton made us feel we were the most important people in the room.
This is a usual stop for us while in Georgetown. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for Christmas and filled with holiday spirit and energy. I usually love the chicken parmigiana but was a bit disappointed that it arrived on my plate warm at best and missing flavor. The portion size was as generous as always. The gnocchi was amazing and the shrimp linguini with lobster sauce was delicious. Filomena’s is one of my favorite restaurants to dine with my family while in Georgetown and will be back again soon.
I brought my niece who attends Georgetown here for dinner while on a business trip.
Fabulous for entertaining our out of town guests. The food, service and Christmas decorations were exceptional as always! Filomena’s does not disappoint - especially if you have the Linguini Cardinale!
Awesome Surprise ending. Food the best
Food was excellent. The complimentary amaretto and sambuca at the end of the meal was a lovely added touch.
Filomena Ristorante is among the best meals I've had in years. Everything about the experience was remarkable. It started with our waiter, Diego. He knew the menu like it was the back of his hand. A consummate professional who enjoyed his work. He made perfect recommendations, was a delightful presence, and always, always, perfectly attentive.
Like many restaurants complimentary bread is provided. It came with an olive oil pesto dip. The bread was soul soothing – warm with a great texture and taste. The dip flavors were so remarkable, that it stopped our conversation.
The food is spectacular. The menu has many familiar Italian dishes albeit with creative twists. What sets Filomena apart from almost every other restaurant is just how perfectly prepared every bit of the meal is. The house made pasta was cooked to perfection. No hard, no undercooked, no mushy linguine. It is pasta cooked so perfectly that is rarely served. The red gravy was a study in perfection. Every ingredient in the right proportion, with the perfect balance of flavor.
I ordered the “Festivale in Venzia.” The shrimp, scallops and lobster were perfectly cooked - not rubbery, not over cooked, or dry and undeniably fresh. The entire dish, every single bit of it, including the presentation, the serving size was culinary marvel. My wife ordered tortellini stuffed with lobster with a lobster cream sauce. It was even better than my dish. As we always do, we share out dishes. This was the first time in 25 years that she cut me off – from sharing food that is.
We ordered tiramisu. One of those to die for deserts done too good to be true.
Finally, at the conclusion of our meal, in keeping with old style Italian hospitality, we were offered a complimentary glass of amaretto or sambuca. We thought we were special until we noticed everyone was offered the same.
Excellent service! Excellent food! Its pricey but worth it!
Amazing food! Amazing Decor! A DC must-see, especially during the holidays!
