Filomena is perfect for the business luncheon or the elegant candle light dinner.
Great place to eat when in the DC/Georgetown area. The veal Marsala was amazing and cannoli even better.
Great food and great experience as always!
Filomena NEVER disappoints. The food and service are always fantastic. It’s a very cozy restaurant so you are likely to make new friends with your table neighbors.
As always outstanding, food, service. so glad we had a 5:30 reservation, we were not rushed and I noticed many people sitting waiting for their table as when the table is ready then you are seated, so my advice is make an early reservation!
First time. Our waiter Peter made our dining experience very special. Such good service.
Craving good, homemade Italian food and Filomena did not disappoint. Service very good...ambience a bit kitsch, but fun....Loved the homemade meatballs which my Husband ordered with ravioli....My Son and I shared lobster linguini which was a bit rich, but delicious and sharing it made it do-able. A glass of Barolo made it complete. We’ll be back.....
Great service, amazing food.
Outstanding food! However a word of caution which will save you a few $$. The plates are designed for family style dining and the waiters do not tell you. In fact mine denied it. He said “everyone takes home a bag!” This is more tolerable if you are a GTown local but problematic if a DC visitor. It’s a must visit.
Amazing food, enjoyable service, memorable experience overall.
Historic Georgetown establishment. Huge portions. Enough to share. The food was pretty good but not great. Service was attentive. It’s so loud that it made conversation at our small table very difficult. One server collided with another and spilled sauce on my pants and shoes. Manager was very apologetic. Frustrating nonetheless. Next time I’ll seek out a quiet neighborhood spot and avoid this scene.
Plates were so big you could easily share them, service was great. I’d definitely go back!
We had heard great things about this restaurant and overall we enjoyed it, however, I can’t give it five stars for these reasons. Our server was difficult to understand and we felt rushed towards the end of our dinner. We weren’t even there an hour so that seemed off for a supposed fine dining restaurant. Also, the pasta is simply not worth the prices here, homemade or not. It was fine, but I’ve had better at half the price. We were also seated too close to other parties and the noise level was high, so hard to have a conversation. The restaurant was beautiful but I would likely not return on a future trip to DC.
The food was delicious. We all said we would go back again. Friendly staff attended to our every need! Homemade pasta was amazing! The ambiance was perfect. Highly recommend!
This is one of the best restaurants in DC—if not the best one. The food is great, the ambiance is marvelous and the service impeccable.
The food and service we're amazing! The prices we're a bit high
Our Waiter, Peter, was amazing!
Very nice and romantic restaurant... food was wonderful my only Gripe is that 1 of the dishes we ordered was Served lukewarm.
The linguine cardinale was outstanding! I can't get it off my mind and hope to return soon.
Lovely atmosphere and huge portions. Share meals and have two desserts! Crowded dining room but we were not overlooked. Beautiful flowers filled the room.
A review can’t possibly do justice to how fabulous Filomena really is. If there is a better Italian restaurant on the east coast please tell me who that would be. Perfectly cooked vegetables, pasta and sauces to die for , fish, poultry and any meat served there is done to perfection also. Try and leave room for dessert, because their selection is heavenly ❤️
Great food and atmosphere. Service was excellent as well. Just needs a bigger lobby!
As usual Filomena was absolutely phenomenal. Excellent service - Germano and excellent food. This is a great spot. Make a reservation!!
One of the best dining experiences in DC! Can’t wait to return!
Filomena's was absolutely amazing and met every expectation we had. The restaurant and waiters were so authentic to the Italian culture. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and homemade. I would give the restaurant 10 stars if that was an option. I would recommend making a reservation as it was super popular.
Excellent service with food that takes true Italians back to their Nonna’s cooking in the kitchen!!! Had a wonderful time and a wonderful meal.
Salad bar at lunch was a nice addition. Entrees were good sized portions and wait staff was very attentive about refilling beverages and ice water. No room for dessert as meal was very filling but the desserts looked very very good (maybe next time). Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
BE sure and make a reservation and then go early and have a drink at the bar - the bartenders were awesome (you need to try the Italian Handshake)! The food is wonderful and plentiful! And you have to try a dessert!
My friends and I had a very unpleasant experience at Filomena. All the group in theirs 30’s and carrying our Brazilian drivers license. The problem here is that our documents, although accepted to drive and rent a car in the USA, is not a valid document at Filomena as a proof that you are older than 21 and can consume alcohol! The waiter and the very stubborn manager keep us telling we should have our passports. Tourists are not recommend to carry their passports, for security reasons. My point here is, if passport is mandatory, please advise customer when calling to confirm the reservation. My friend and I were very stressed by the experience, ordered our dishes and left as soon as possible of that unpleasant and, as a matter of fact, very tacky restaurant. Oh, and the food.... not even worth it!
The menu is a little pricey but the portions are! I think I have spaghetti for three days. Food was great, my husband got chicken parm and loved it! Overall a great experience!
Meal was excellent. Portions were abundant.
Service was top notch.
Will definitely eat here when I return to DC.
Very noisy. And very dark. Food was excellent. Wish I had room for dessert.
AMAZING service and equally amazing food!!!
Food is good but too expensive. Portions are generous. Our server was less than amiable.
Food is really tasty, the service was just ok. The waiter was not very friendly and seems to be in a hurry all the time. Busy restaurant (at 4:30 pm). Reservation is needed.
Great meal! The salmon was fantastic and the chicken marsala one of the best I've ever had.
This restaurant offers a great 3 course meal for lunch. They have a very delicious Chicken parmigiana, an amazing fresh salad bar, and the best strawberry cheesecake in the country!!!
We chose to go to Filomena’s because we have exhausted all the favorable dining options near the Kennedy Center and have had mixed results. The short journey paid off very well as we discovered a hidden gem...at least hidden to us! The lunch deal options were excellent; my wife had the mushroom appetizer and the chicken Marsala entree while I had the sausage appetizer and the manicotti entree; everything incredibly flavorful and quite plentiful that we were not sure how we would manage the desserts; a whopping slice of cheesecake that was so incredibly rich and creamy we could not help from enjoying some. Their dessert options all looked good; see pics attached. Our waiter Peter was perfectly attentive without being a nuisance and our brief conversations with him. Truly a great pre-show option if you plan ahead and don’t mind the short walk. Highly recommend Filomena’s; we will be back!
Delicious Italian food, enough said. When you walk in you see the old Italian grandma in the window making the pasta that you will eat later on (if you order what she's making that is). While this is an expensive restaurant for pasta; the portions are HUGE, I brought my dinner home and ate it for 2 more days, so it's relative in terms of cost. This place is ALWAYS busy, so reservations are recommended, and because it's always busy, it's loud, this is not an intimate place, you can see what your neighbor ordered and in some cases lean over and sneak a taste (kidding, don't do that). But definitely a destination restaurant if you are in Georgetown and want to spend a little extra money.
Fantastic! Best Italian restaurant I have ever been to.
