Filomena is perfect for the business luncheon or the elegant candle light dinner.
Great birthday dinner at Filomenas over a long weekend in DC. We had the fried mozzarella (not your standard by any stretch), lobster risotto and strawberry cheesecake. The husband and I split meals everywhere we go (which normally helps with portion control but not with apps, entree & dessert!). This was plenty more than we could eat and well worth it. They brought their A-game in spooky Halloween decor as well which is fun. Highly recommend.
I was so excited to take my family to Filomina's. It has been one of my favorites. Unfortunately, the ambiance has changed drastically since I was last here. You are packed into your table like sardines in a can. I could not move my arms without hitting another diner or waiter. It would have been almost impossible to get up from the table to use the restroom. The waiter was efficient in an almost robotic way...no personality at all...just order your food, eat and go!
It really was a disappointment and I will not be recommending it in the future. It is no longer a place for an enjoyable evening with great food and wine.
We were in town visiting my son for parents weekend at his college. We always love coming to Filomena and wanted to share the experience with the rest of the family. Everything from start to finish was excellent! Can’t wait to visit again!
Great waiter, very attentive
I have been to Filomenas several times and it never disappoints!! Food on point! Ambiance, cozy Italian but they go ALL out for the holidays!! Halloween decor galore there right now!! Luv it!! Staff always fast and professional!!
I do wish they used brighter lighting but if it’s a clear day your fine and you can always request to sit by a window.
Outstanding food and service as I’ve seen it for the last 20 years
Always delicious and a lot of fun, wouldn’t visit DC without visiting Filomena Ristorante!!
Amazing meal! Wonderful service, even though the restaurant was full.
Not my type, but can see why it’s still popular. Large portions of comfort food Italian. Fun Halloween decorations. Great location. Food execution wasn’t the best, but the price wasn’t all that bad. A step above the Olive Garden.
What a wonderful place! Not knowing the restaurant goes all out decorating for Halloween, we were thrilled with all the eerie decorations in the restaurant! Our waiter told us that they really go crazy for Halloween, Christmas and Easter, and also do some decorating for Valentine’s Day and the 4th of July.
That aside, this is a top of the list restaurant - will be one of our favorites to visit every time we come to D.C.! The homemade Italian dishes are absolutely delicious! Our table ordered lobster with linguini (huge pieces of lobster), a baked lobster and cannelloni dish, and the fruit de mare with linguine - I asked if the chef could swap out the Sunday sauce for vodka sauce for the seafood linguini, which they did and it was delicious!
We went at lunch - same menu as dinner but a little less crowded and easier to get in. Must have a reservation or you will wait for a table!
The entrees are too big
Very nice service. Huge portions!
The most amazing food ever! I lived in DC for 10 years and always went for special occasions. Now I live in Pittsburgh, and I visit sometimes just to eat here!
GREAT PLACE!! Amazing food.
Our server Peter was great! The food was amazing. The Halloween decor was really over the top, now I want to go back and see what they do for a Christmas! The gnocchi was better than my Italian grandmothers, but Shhh, don’t tell.
Great night! A true favorite!
Our server, Peter, was THE BEST. You MUST ask for him! The food was truly wonderful as well, although the dishes are seriously WAY too big! My husband and I split an entree with no appetizer and it was still way too much food. For that reason, I didn’t give 5 stars for value, as it was just way too much and had to be thrown out. 😥. Peter is very knowledgeable, honest about the feedback of others and his own opinion. I rarely find a server of his caliber these days.
The homemade pasta is wonderful! Halloween decorations were crazy fun! Service was perfect and wonderful!
Best Italian restaurant in the area a
We wished the dessert was covered for my wife's birthday.
Everything was fine until i was given the bill and saw I was charged $42 for two shots of tequila! Ridiculous!
Food was terrific. Salad bar a nice touch. Decorations for Halloween is a great touch. Excellent decor ...
I must for anyone visiting DC/Georgetown. The place is iconic as they come. Food is outstanding. Gets very crowded, loud, and busy. Sometimes this impacts the service, but the food and atmosphere makes up for any shortcomings or delays. Make reservations one to two weeks in advance.
Great food, great service, great location. Filomena Ristorante is one of my most favorite restaurants.
Always an amazing experience!
Excellent food and exceptional service! Would return every time I'm in DC.
Delicious food and great service. An unbeatable combination. Looking forward to returning.
Halloween decorations are fantastic!! The gnocchi was delicious, & the service was impeccable. A lovely experience, as usual.
We arrived on time, seating us took 40 minutes .. so no point in reserving !! Bummer
Excellent food and overwhelming portions. Sunday sauce meal and sausage cannelloni were excellent. Tricked out for Halloween! Service was excellent! Would definitely recommend to anyone going to Washington D.C.
Gracie! Gracie! The best food, best Waiter, best atmosphere! Will be back, dave from Denver Co
This place is very cute decorations for Halloween, and a standard Italian affair menu, it feels a bit touristy, and the food portions were very large is slightly crude and roughly prepared. One of the passes we order, which had lobster and was on the menu since 1983 Had Way too much sauce and way too much butter.
Wonderful as ever. Looooove the decorations Come for every holiday. Got married on Halloween and came there for our luncheon.
Delicious, portions allow for packages to take home!
The food was amazing, the service was incredible, and the halloween decorations were unbelievable. I would definitely dine there again and have recommended the restaurant to several people after my experience. Need a reservation though.
Reservations are a must as it is very busy. Our waiter and food were both outstanding and we definitely recommend it for all. Pricey but worth it.
What a wonderful restaurant! The Halloween decorations were an amazing spectacle! We ordered the Burrata Caprese appetizer and it was delicious. I highly recommend it. We also ordered the calamari and it was light and golden. Perfectly prepared! Out entrees were flavorful and generous. The strawberry cheesecake was light and creamy. I highly recommend Filomena’s!
Everything was great. My only complaint was we were very cramped and our table was kinda small.
We love this place and eat here every time we are in town. Portions are large and we always have leftovers to enjoy later. Be sure to plan ahead and make a reservation a day or two before... this place is busy!
