Filomena is perfect for the business luncheon or the elegant candle light dinner.
Good good good
Our dining experience at Filomena was fantastic. I cannot remember the last time I thoroughly enjoyed an evening out at a restaurant. I’ve never had better service anywhere. Portions are very generous, and every stage of our dinner (appetizer, meal and dessert) were wonderful. The complimentary after dinner amaretto was a lovely touch. I will definitely return!
This is a classic Georgetown restaurant. We shared the stuffed mushroom appetizer and as well as the lobster ravioli and a special pastry wrapped salmon. All of it was delicious. Our waiter, Tony, was fantastic and recommended a great Italian white wine blend. Great experience!
I don’t have the words to do justice when describing this restaurant. Excellent! It’s a must!
Wife and I very much enjoyed the experience, the food was awesome, and the service was prompt and professional. If you love Italian you will love this place...
Haven't been there in 15 years and nothing has changed. Great food, great service and beautiful decor. Homemade pasta was and still is outstanding. Won't wait another 15 years.
Filomena is one of my favorite places. It seems pricey but you get ALOT of food and could probably share two dishes between four people. The quality of the food is excellent, the service is superb. The ambiance is old style, not for Hipsters, but is just what you want if you want traditional Italian food. Highly recommend the veal chop (enough for 4 people), anything with the Cardinale sauce, the fried calamari and the desserts are sublime!!
I must when you are in Georgetown! I will go back when I am town. Best Italian food and the sauce was amazing also the meatballs were the best!
Always a great experience! The best Italian food in the USA.
This is a restaurant not to be missed. The atmosphere makes you believe you are in Italy. The food is excellent. Items at the salad bar are in small quantities and are replenished frequently. Our main courses were absolutely delicious. The bread served at the table was a nice quality Italian bread. Our portions were enough that we had leftovers to bring home so we could enjoy the delicious food even more.
Filomena's also offers a prix-fixe lunch menu.
Overall ok solid meal.
Very large portions.
Food is good but heavy.
Ok for casual lunch.
Very nice service.
The food was amazing and the service was even better!!! We brought our kids and they loved it too!
The service was terrible. The food was good after we sent it back. Waited for over 30min for my entree. My food came out cold and had to send it back. Hot the Manager Kevin and he took care of us from that point.
You could tell from the smell when you entered that you were in for authentic, delicious Italian cooking. And the smell undersold just how amazing the food would be!
Amazing food! Authentic Italian cuisine with a home style twist
Our go to restaurant for RAMW restaurant week. The appetizers and main dishes are AMAZING! This is a Georgetown "must visit". Excellent all around.
Filomena is my favorite Italian restaurant in the area, and maybe of all time. I went with a group of 6 for restaurant week, as we do every restaurant week. We split all 5 appetizer options, and doubled up on the Calamari. All were spectacular. The entrees were all amazing as usual, and so was the dessert. You have to expect going in to Filomena that seating will be a bit cramped, with low lighting and moderately loud venue, but neither of those are big factors for our group to enjoy dinner. Getting such a delicious 3 course meal for $35 is such a great deal. We will be back in the Winter!
Fantastic as always!!!!
We went to this restaurant for the first time for s special anniversary dinner with our family. We were disappointed in the noise level and crowdness of the restaurant. Definitely not for an intimate dinner experience. It’s like a factory in there! We were at a table for 6 and couldn’t hear across the table. The food was very good and fresh.
Very rich good, restaurant extremely busy, hard to get
Food was great a little salty. Though did not have good service. The server was rude and gave us faces. Also, we were rushed and could not even finish the meal as they kept offering to box it up before we were even done.
My husband took me here for my birthday while we were staying in Georgetown. Everything, from the friendly staff, to my espresso, was fabulous.
I had the risotto with shrimp in lobster sauce which was to die for. My husband ordered the sausage rigatoni in an amazing classic tomato sauce. There was so much food...these are definitely family style entrees, we (as well as everyone else) left with a HUGE portion. There is no way 1 person can finish these massive plates. But you’ll be happy you have left overs the next day.
Their desserts are incredible, their wine list is amazing and I’m so happy we decided on Filomena’s, it was such a wonderful dinner with my love.
I visit every time I am in DC! This time was just as terrific as past visits.
Filomena is one of those places that never disappoints.
Filomena is the absolute best!
Love visiting Filomena Ristorante! The meatballs and lasagna are out of this world.
Amazing food and great service. I will definitely be returning
The best Italian Food I've eaten in years! Can't wait to go back.
The food was very good but took sooooo long to come out.
This is our all-time favorite restaurant in DC. We went for lunch during Restaurant Week and it was amazing as always. I ordered the fried calamari and lasagna. The calamari is some of the best I've ever tasted, it just melts in your mouth. The lasagna is also incredible - it's a huge portion. When we've come for dinner, we usually can share an appetizer, entree, and dessert and still sometimes leave with leftovers. For dessert, you have to try the tres leches! It's the best I've had anywhere and we've tried it many other places. It's so light and delicious. You really can't wrong with anything on the menu.
our server nico was trash. our busboy juan took care of us most of the night.
It's always a great experience here, and the best pasta in DC. You can really tell the difference between pre-made pasta, and homemade. And Filomena definitely make their pasta in house.
Great quality food with huge portions. Great waitstaff too.
Great value especially during restaurant week. Best Italian I've had in the DC metro area. Substantial portions and very authentic. The deep complex flavor profile really comes through in their lasagna and meatballs.
Peter was an excellent server.
The portion is worth the price, the dishes are very creamy! If you like cheesy, creamy Italian dishes, don’t miss this res!
Amazing and highly recommend! The quantity and quality of food was outstanding. Having been to Italy, this is the real deal.
Huge quantities, best lasagna I have had out of Italy and outstanding service and price.
We always make Filomena a must stop when in DC. We had a family dinner Thursday but half did not make due to plane delays so only half the group was able to make it to Filomena that night . The next day, we we happened to get dropped off by taxi directly in front of restaurant and we all said this is not a coincidence!!! We entered the restaurant and the lovely man who greeted us heard our story from the night before and graciously found us a table!!! It was packed as usual but were seated at the same table as the night before!!! Thank you Filomena!! The food and wonderful wait staff made for again another fabulous trip to DC.
Filomena never disappoints! I make it a point to come here whenever I’m in DC. The food and service are excellent and we were there during restaurant week so got a price fixed menu for $35. A bargain!! I can’t recommend a visit to Filomena enough!!
