Filomena is perfect for the business luncheon or the elegant candle light dinner.
Amazing! Went for Valentine’s Day lunch, best Italian in DC.
9:00 reservation. Sat at 9:30
I'm not sure what got into Tom Sietsema of The Washington Post, but this restaurant is more than a two-star establishment. The pasta is incredible, rich, perfectly cooked and judging by the size of the crowd, a wonderful place to go in the city for exceptional pasta. The wine list is extensive, the desserts phenomenal, and the service impeccable. Do not hesitate to go based on the review that cited portion sizes that were too large as a reason for two stars. Give it at least 3+
The service and food was outstanding as usual and we loved the decorations for Valentine's Day!
This is my second time at this restaurant. The food and service were unbelievable. Would highly recommend!
Peter was an excellent server, great combination. Of professionalism and treating us like family!
Love this place. I had a business lunch with clients and they absolutely loved it.
Heading back tonight with my wife for Valentines dinner.
Went for my wife's birthday lunch. We have been going for this occasion for the past couple of years. The place has not changed much over the years, the Pasta Mama was making gnocchi in the window when we left. I maybe mis-remembering, I feel like the place has become more business like then in past years. No warm greetings, smiling waiters
Amazing food and service. It is loud though so not the sort of place for an intimate convo!
The food was delicious! Very good service. A place that makes you feel like it’s a special night out.
The food is delicious and plentiful. Service impeccable as always. It was fun to see those in our group experience this for the first time. All agreed they would return.
Very average. Tourist place it seemed. I don't mind spending money for a good meal, but this was average food and very expensive for the quality. Service was excellent.
Price points a little high but food was worth it. Our server Nico rocked! The complementary end-of-the meal Sambuco and Ameretto was the cherry 🍒 on top of a delicious, authentic Italian feast . Buon Appitito!
Just amazing. Third time here and it is consistently awesome. Super packed and loud but fun and delicious.
Anniversary dinner - 30 years!
As always an outstanding experience. Brought friends who had not been before and they loved it!
Still the great, vibrant place Filomena's was when I last visited from the Pacific Northwest years back.
BEST ITALIAN FOOD I'VE EVER EATEN!! SMALL, INTIMATE DINING ROOM. PERFECT FOR DATE NIGHTS OR ANNIVERSARIES.
Made a reservation with opentable and when we got there we were seated right away
Service was quick and very helpful and the portions were large.
The food was outstanding.
Best Italian restaurant in DC
Most everything was ok. I was given the wrong dessert to go and didn’t find out until I returned to the hotel. That made me sad.
Amazing! Great food and great service! Can’t wait to go back!
This is the best Italian food that you will ever have. The service is excellent, and the staff is fantastic. Ray L.
Love this restaurant - a classic DC establishment! My sister in law was visiting and we did a day in Georgetown and had to take her here! The restaurant was decorated all-out for Valentine's Day which made for a fun setting and the food as always was delicious! Pasta Mamma was in the window making ravioli and I just had to order them after we saw her, and they did not disappoint.
Food is fantastic
Amazing dinner! Our go to place to celebrate an accomplishment in our lives! Filomena never lets us down.
You have to try it once. Food is good but way over priced for what it is (it is in Georgetown but still). Staff is super nice. Decors is overdone and a little scary actually, Disneyland of Italy almost. Worth experiencing to say you have done it!
Amazing meal with a great atmosphere! Starts as you walk down stairs past a kitchen member hand making pasta and continues to get better. The main dinning area was a lower lit open area packed with conversations, wine and the most amazing smells. There was not an open seat in the house so reservations are a must no matter what day of the week. The meal started with a freshly baked bread basket with a white, dark wheat and a pizza dough options served with an amazingly flavored oil for dipping. Known for their seafood pasta dishes, which are highly recommend, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I had the grilled chicken over pasta and vodka sauce and my friend had the lobster pasta, top notch! This was a great night with an amazing meal and I’ll definitely be going back.
Such a unique and special place...old school Italian. Service is top notch. Excellent food...very large portions!
We loved everything about this restaurant!! The food was soooo good. My drink was made perfectly which I have found is hard to find at a restaurant. The ambiance was enjoyable. They do pack a lot of tables in to the room. That being said it is very well organized and we did not feel cramped at all. And the staff were all friendly, worked hard, and really did an amazing job. Can't wait to come back!
Our waiter was quite good; however, we wanted to dine. Instead, we were hustled in and out in an hour (guess they needed to turn those tables instead of ensure a great customer experience). The noise level was so excessive we couldn’t hear our waiter much less carry on dinner conversation. Also, the food was just ok—rigatoni sauce was fairly bland—indicative of mass production. Overall, we felt rushed in the experience to get in and out—we left feeling very stressed. Not likely to return.
Come hungry and be ready to eat a feast as portions are extra large. I ordered meatballs for appetizer and had the Eggplant parmigiana for my main meal. Both were delicious!
Ambience is homey and cozy but service feels a bit rushed probably due to the line of waitlisted people. Even though we booked for a table for 6pm, we didn’t get seated until 6:30pm.
It’s a great place for a special occasion!
Overall a good experience. The food and service was very good but very loud and a bit of a “factory” experience. Definitely not intimate.
Food and hospitality were off the charts. I’m still eating my dinner 2 days later. They always deliver.
Loved it as always! Great food!
We had a amazing waiter, thus making service exceptional. Decor was great and environment is sophisticated and energetic. Food was amazing, I had the Misto DI Mare Alla Filomena. Seafood was cook, nice and tender and the pasta was to die for. Will make future trips here for sur
The waiter seemed to forget about us after dessert was served. Other than that, the food was amazing and I thought the lunch deal value was great because of the amount of food you get with it.
This was my 3rd time to Filomena and it did not disappoint. I had the lobster linguine which is absolutely out of this world. If you haven't tried Filomena do yourself a favor and make your reservation today.
It’s a wonderful place but the food was average this time and waitstaff was just ok and seemed disinterested. The desserts were good. Sorry to say all their wines are Italian. Nothing from California.
It was a typical Filomena’s experience. From the welcome and check-in, to the bar, and finally to the table, each person making us feel welcome.
The food is off the charts good as is the service. And the dining room is my favorite anywhere.
As it is valentines week the restaurant was heavily decorated and you definitely felt like you were in an Italian grandmothers home and she was very much into Valentine’s Day! The atmosphere was festive but also comfortable. The food was really good and the service was as well. Not over the top but they seemed to appear when you needed something! I would highly recommend if you are in the mood for Italian!
