Filomena is perfect for the business luncheon or the elegant candle light dinner.
Large portions of mediocre food. Only veg option starter for restaurant week was caprese. A bad choice if you can’t get a ripe tomato. Eggplant parm main was a tad salty. All in all disappointing food.
Wonderful, traditional Italian restaurant. Very attentive and capable staff. Excellent food and very generous portions. The only thing that is at all negative is that it is very crowded (small tables spaced very close together) and a little bit loud. But, all in all a very good experience.
Came to town to see friends... awesome experience!
Food was great! Service was very good!
My favorite restaurant and never disappoints. Great vibe and service and the food is to die. Everything is perfect
Came for restaurant week. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. They didn’t skimp on the selections for restaurant week like some places do. Can’t wait to go back!
The food is always delicious. The service is excellent too.
Everything about Filomena was excellent. We went for the Restaurant Week menu and will be back to have more from all of the menu!! Thank you Filomena for a fantastic night of food and service!
It is pretty salty for non-Americans so you'd be better to say "less salt" when you order.
We had an awesome meal at Filomena’s. It is our favorite restaurant but our friends had never been there. So we decided to take advantage of Restaurant Week to introduce them to Filomena’s. It did not disappoint, we each had a three course lunch that was wonderful. The server was attentive and the food came out hot. All in all it was an enjoyable afternoon.
I am glad they have decided to continue to offer a luncheon 3 course menu.
Filomena is one of the best Italian restaurant outside Italy. Delicious, authentic and plentiful dishes. We had the fried calamari, Ravioli and Lasagna and they were all extremely delicious. The desserts are worth making space for so plan to take home some of the plentiful main course meal to eat their delicious desserts.
Restaurant week - so definitely very busy. Only reason I put a damper on ambiance. Food was legit though.
Always good, just
Outstanding. Delicious food, cozy restaurant and great service. Everything you want at an Italian place.
Amazing food, enormous portions, tastes like Nonna just made pasta for you. The best ravioli and penne alla vodka I’ve had in a long time.
Really enjoyed the restaurant experience! So much food for the price. Would recommend visiting
Can't go wrong with any of their pasta dishes. All amazing! And great portions as well.
The food was amazing. Great portions for lunch. We each had leftovers for the next day. I had the Cannelloni Fruttie Di Mare. It had a generous portion of large shrimp. I requested a spoon so I could make sure I was not leaving any of the Lobster sauce on my plate.
I’m not sure if they were understaffed or what was going on but I wasn’t greeted for over 15 minutes and the restaurant wasn’t full. I hate to complain but it was kind of ridiculous. The food was great as always but the service was poor.
I hate to give rave reviews for a restaurant that I really like, since one of these days I won’t be able to get a reservation because everyone just loves the place. But that’s Filomena’s, I love you guys, this is a cant go wrong restaurant.
The food here is excellent! We went during Restaurant Week which had a variety of options for $35! Our waiter Peter was very efficient, friendly, had a great personality and made us feel welcomed and special, even though he was waiting on many tables. Wear stretchy pants when you go here, you’re going to need them with the volume of food you get!
Lots of delicious food but our server was a bit inattentive. Room was dim.
Filomena never disappoints! We’ve been coming here for my wife’s birthday for years since it’s her favorite Italian restaurant. Food, drink, service, and ambiance is the full package at Filomena!
It's a bit campy, but the food is absolutely wonderful. Expect huge portions, heavy sauces, and full bellies. The server (Peter) very friendly.
Aside from an embarrassing timing issue when our entrees landed on top of our appetizers, I wouldn't change a thing.
Loud, cramped, so so food.
Amazing as always!
Great nostalgic place that holds an important place in the DC food scene and continues to produce consistent food.
Had the Osso Bucco. It was delicious. Great dining experience. Will definitely be back!
Best Italian food around. Tony is awesome. Got a whole tres leeches cake to go. Fantastic!!!!
The service and ambiance of Filomena Ristorante was exceptional. The wine, appetizers, and homemade pasta transported me back to Rome where I had my first real Italian cuisine experience. A brilliant wine selection, incredible pasta dishes, and one of a kind desserts. Highly recommend the mozzarella in carrozza, gnocchi with any type of sauce (I chose Vodka sauce) and the cannoli. 10 out of 10 experience.
We loved it. Special ambiance with fantastic food. We had to get to the theater, so couldn't order desert or coffee and asked for separate checks. Both I'm afraid didn't make our server too happy, but we'll definitely be back. Thanks so much.
As always- a wonderful experience!
Delicious with leftovers for tomorrow as always!
Excellent service, thank you Tony, awesome food, great detail as it was a birthday and they took care of the singing
Tables too close together so it is very noisy. And my chair was constantly knocked by someone chair table behind us. The portions were way too big.
The food is the best Italian I’ve had in the US. Nothing fancy, but legit traditional Italian fare, as it was prepared by my nonna! Including the huge portions!!
The sauces were the highlight, although it was hard to single out one element.
Not many places offer cannelloni, and we found them here!
This is truly Italian-American cuisine served in the type place that is uniquely Italian-American. You will not find meals like this is Italy or many restaurants like this there. Here the food is based on heavy sauces, heavy ingredients and enormous portions. The taste of the food is good and the quality of the ingredients used is quite high, but it is not Italian cuisine which is almost the exact opposite (i.e. small portions, simple/few ingredients, and relatively minimal "sauce")
The risotto I had was well prepared and appropriately al-dente. So no complaints there. The balsamic vinegar used on salads and appetizers is good as well. My dining companions had pasta dishes which were tasty but overloaded with heavy, creamy sauces.
Our waiter was a bit harried at times but certainly more than attentive to our needs.
If you want actual Italian food this is not the place, but for Italian-American food (a whole different cuisine) this place is quite good. The wine list had some nice choices Italian wines and some were quite reasonably priced. Wine but the glass is quite expensive so if more than one are drinking at the table better to order a bottle here.
We enjoyed the food, as always. It was a lot noisy, as always.
Filomena's is an authentic Italian restaurant with over the top decorations and large plates of very good Italian food! I love that the put a bottle of amaretto and anise on the table at the end for the final salud!
The lasagna and cannoli were AMAZING! We cannot wait to go back
