Filippo Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
We went to Filippo to celebrate my husbands birthday. Lucky for us it was mid week - and no sporting events in town! It was quiet and we got the full attention of our wonderful server Jerry ! He made food and wine selections for us that were excellent, he was very attentive and VERY entertaining ! We all had a lot of laughs, a great meal and fun night!
We highly recommend the fried calamari, Mussels Mare e Monti, Scampi Francavillese, Pollo Lucia...
Too full for dessert but Jerry gave us Italian cookies!!!
Tonight was the first visit prior to the game where the service was horrible. New waiter Who was assigned to us never came to our table after 20 min. We got up to leave and our faithful waiter saw us and told us he would take care of us even though we weren’t seated in his section. He is the best!! He always Remembers our favorites Good guy— Bes.
ZOO! Waited outside enclave to be greeted by hostess for too long. Had reservations had to call out time and get attention to be seated or others pushing ahead . Ahh the City. Waited forever at table to be acknowledged... Nevermind Bruno Mars Concert and no parking. Got it to go...no silverware but bartender really nice while screaming waitress prolly an owner berated another employee my first visit to Little Italy but I'm Italian too so I know how it is❤️
the waiter was great..the food was good...but if your looking for a quiet place to talk and relax after work with friends or whomever...forget it...I have never been in such a noisy restaurant..and it wasn't the patrons that made it noisy, it was the help.. the hostess was having a great time.. It was a bit to noisy for me
We have been going to this restaurant for many years whenever we see a concert at the Garden. We had a 6:30 reservation for an 8p show. We were seated in a small room with a large group of over 15. There were a few other tables. The noise level was so loud I could not hear the person sitting next to me, let alone the person across the table. We waited over 20 minutes for someone to take our order--we asked several times for someone to come. Then we waited at least another 25 to get our food. Which was not what we ordered. The chicken with anchovies had no anchovies. The veal and eggplant had no eggplant. Several mgmt. people came over and shared their horror at our experience with a promise of "comp'ing us an appetizer"..which did not happen. NOTHING on the bill was comp'd. We were promised when we left (after arguing about them taking a coupon which we have used many times in the past), that "we would be taken care of" on our next trip. Thanks, but I don't think there will be a next trip! Given that they recognized us as repeat customers, we were not treated very well at all and verbal apologies with empty promises of "we'll take care of you NEXT time" fell a little flat. We were told a cook did not show. Too bad as the one that was there did not prepare the food very well that night. All in all a very disappointing experience that I am in no hurry to repeat. Oh..by the way. The service was so bad that we ended up missing most of the opening act of the show!!
My son was happy with linguini and meatballs.
I really enjoyed my Lobstah ravioli. My husband ate too much of the bread with olive oil so wasn't able to finish his meal.
Our waiter, Jerry, was especially kind to our autistic son. My son kept asking questions about the garage door asking where the motor was. Jerry was very patient and answered every question and then took him to see where the button was and the motor.
As someone whose parents were born and raised in Italy, I was fortunate enough to enjoy some amazing authentic Italian food growing up. Filippo's took me right back to my upbringing with hands down the most authentic Italian food I've tasted in years. We enjoyed a great wine from Verona and some of their housemade fresh desserts. The service was impeccable and the food perfectly prepared. I would highly recommend the following dishes.... Mare e Monti, Veal Piccata, and Gran Sasso. Buon Appetito!!
I don't like to leave reviews that appear harsh or unfair. It was a concert night however that should be no excuse. The food was okay at best, the service was very slow, the waiter was uniformed and seemed to be lost at times . When out appetizer came it this women was yelling who had tomato and cheese pizza , it was out , supposedly Bruschetta Napolitana , it was diced tomatoes and mozzarella cheese on toasted Italian brad with seasoning. I had the Boston Garden with was a veal dish. The veal was over cooked dry and tasteless, my wife had the chicken parm and enjoyed it, I tried it and it was very good. All in all its is our third time there and they do not get any better, it is okay at best. I am not sure we will be back. There are too many great restaurants in the area to settle.
We love going to Filippo's before heading to TD Garden for events. It's a quick walk from the restaurant to the venue, and Filippo's can always be counted on for good food and great service. The prices are very moderate and you get great food for a great price! Lu Lu keeps everyone on their toes, and if she thinks you've been waiting too long for anything she'll be right over to your table to take care of you. Definitely recommend!
Fabulous service and good food. Our wait service was very attentive. Great selection on menu. Pricing for Boston was good. Quality of food good. Meals arrived quickly. Great option when attending an event at the Boston Garden. Convenient with parking very close. Short Walking distance to the event
This was our first time at Filippos (and not our last). Our waiter was Jerry, who was very nice and attentive.
I had the eggplant parmigiana and my mother had the linguine with mussels. Both were excellent.
The atmosphere here was old world and very vibrant. The people were so friendly and caring.
The location was excellent. We were going to the TD Garden for a show, and Filippos is 1 block away.
This restaurant is nice . The food was good but average. A little slow service. Need at least two more waiters. Food are fresh. Italian food with with rich fresh ingredients. Clean and comfortable atmosphere. In the ceiling are a painting of the map of Italy. Pretty good selection of wines.
Found this great spot on Open Table. It is a bit off the main touristy Hanover st, only a few min walk but worth it. Geraldo our waiter was from Florence and had such wit and the ability to make the whole experience fun. The food was authentic Italian w the fresh, simple ingredients I would expect and all 4 of us were very pleased. Excellent cannoli and tiramisu. Cappuccino was perfecto! Reasonable pricing. Bruschetta Napolitano to die for
Great authentic Italian food in a wonderful old building that felt like a slice of old-world Italy. The wait staff and bartenders were friendly, full of jokes and laughter, helpful and attentive. The food was excellent and came quickly, complemented by a good winelist. It's the closest Italian restaurant to the TD Garden, and just as good as spots that are much further in the heart of the North End.
