I have been going to this restaurant since 2011, but I don't plan to go back in the future based on my most recent experience. The service was TERRIBLE. The waiter did not come back to our table after giving us our iced teas until I flagged him down 45 minutes after we ordered to inquire about the status of getting our food. We had only ordered entrees. Although the restaurant was quite busy, I saw other tables seated after us order, eat, and leave before we got our food. Once we finally got our food (an hour after ordering), it was fine, but it was certainly not worth the wait. The waiter only took 15% off the bill for our trouble. He also did not bring drink refills after being asked. No manager ever stopped over to us, and no one else ever asked us anything. Again, I will not be back.
Beautiful restaurant with great ambiance. Unfortunately, server must have been new. She was nice but clearly had not been trained at all, almost as if she had been in another position and then they needed a server. Only saving grace was another server came to the rescue to salvage our experience (barely) before we walked out. The food was not good either. If they can improve the service and the food, this place could be something as the room itself was really nice. Too bad.
Had a reservation for 7:30 pm on a Friday but didn’t need it. Lots of open tables. Thought I might have made a mistake, but food was quite good and wait staff was excellent.
Great people and super service great food. Would recommend this place to anyone
Service was slow. Food was average to below average.
Michael provided excellent service! Thank you!
Aside from the noisy environment, it was outstanding all around
Service was terrible. Our waitress never checked on us and was slow. If you have to eat there go for it but expect terrible service.
Horrible. Grilled bread brought to table burned on one side and never replaced. Ordered shrimp cocktail only to be told 15 minutes later they were ‘out’. Requested different table away from kitchen and were refused in spite of many, many open tables. We cancelled our food order, paid for drinks and left. Ruined our Friday night in Chicago!
Nothing speacial. The waitress who was supposed to serve me barley did it seem like I was inconveniencing her, she had a little attitude. Good thing the other waitress took the time to take my order and help..
Was rather disappointed. Service was slow and food came out very inconsistently. The food is decent, but nothing special.
Food was ok, but our side salad was salty and when we told the waitress she offered no suggestions to fix (new salad or other) we asked for a different salad dressing and then she disappeared for the next 45 minutes and then came back with no dressing and when asked for it, she complained of being busy We were 1 of 6 tables being used so I’m not sure what “ busy” meant. Plus there were others on staff.
She seemed annoyed that we had a complaint but it was crazy salty. Must have been a bad batch of salad dressing. Anyway, we won’t be back.
Don’t recommend at all
Noisy poor service
Amazing!!! Came here for college graduation! Loved the food and service
Great venue, but loud music is hard for business meetings.
The food wasn't up at the same level as the rest of the restaurant. The decor was chic, the drinks were good, the waiter was cool, but the pasta was - meh. Chefs are doing so much with pasta these days. Filini needs to step up its game. Try gnocchi with duck breast and dark, savory sauce. Find another restaurant that is doing pasta right.
The service was great - attentive & friendly. The burrata salad & tomato soup were delicious. The carbonara pasta was not good, dry, not creamy, not tasty. The chicken Milanese was also disappointing, dry
Easter brunch was lovely
I live in the Lakeshore East neighborhood and didn't have a clue that there was a restaurant upstairs above the bar. It is lovely and relatively quiet. We had a salad and pasta. Both were outstanding. Service okay. Prices were high, as expected in a hotel restaurant.
Enjoyed the lunch and atmosphere. Needs a little touch up in the booths.
Waiter was inattentive and intrusive. Food over priced and only adequate quality. Filini was a much better restaurant before the make-over.
Selected because of proximity to Harris Theater, and we were very disappointed. Food is okay at best, but it is enormously overpriced. The worst value I can recall having ever received for my money. Menu is limited and very uninspiring. We will never go again.
a bit confusing trying to decide whether i am at an italian inspired restaurant, a sushi restaurant, or something different. The sushi, some of the best I have had in a long time, and was presented very well. Drinks were good, but a bit overpriced... and meal was good, with my pork chop and her salmon being cooked nicely, but description vs delivery was different.
A great spot, and the food was good... was it 40 dollar per entree good? ehhhh...
Awesome service and delicious food for a good price!
Amazing food, gnocchi with squash vegetables and mushroom was amazing! and the wine was great too! The gnocchi were not heavy, they were like little angel pillows! Cheers
Absolutely loved our server. He was so nice and attentive. Would go back just to sit in his area again.
Had an impromptu dinner with people who live in the neighborhood. Easy to park at the hotel. With it being the holiday season, it was pretty both in the restaurant as well as the view outside. The atmosphere is quiet and was conducive to nice conversation. While the menu isn't large, the options were pretty wide-ranging so we could each find something we liked. The pasta choices as well as the steak were all tasty, well prepared and nicely presented. Reasonable portion size as well. Our waitress was excellent - attentive and welcoming without hovering. It was a nice find for a last minute dinner.
Came for high tea on a Sunday afternoon. Really slow and poor service even though there was one other party in the entire place. We were seated for 40 minutes before our order was taken and it was over an hour until we got served our tea. Really no excuse for our group to be sitting around waiting to flag a waitress when the entire place was empty! The decor and ambiance is gorgeous so I wish I could love it, but would not recommend anyone to visit this place. Also- the tea was good but the small bites were just a bunch of sweet desserts and one savory option. Nothing special.
Absolutely loved it food was amazing especially the fried calamari
Manager did a great job attending to us. Will be back hope he’s there
The service never seems quick enough but the food tastes outstanding.
Very nice atmosphere and the food was good. A little bit on the expensive side, but overall no complaints.
Food was okay but extremely expensive. I suppose this is what you get downtown Chicago. I felt like the server didnt think we were fancy enough to eat there. Again, just my feelings.
We went to Filini for a small bachelorette dinner. We sat at the bar and had cocktails while we waited for beyond to arrived. The bar area is very nice and you can have a good conversation. We ate upstairs. The food was delicious! We each had a different dish from the salmon, risotto, steak, and chicken. None of us were disappointed at all. The dessert and coffee were amazing as well. The best part was our server, Benjamin. He was phenomenal and made us feel like royalty. He took wonderful care of us and went out of his way to make our Bride-to-Be feel amazing! Thank you, Benjamin!
The only food choices that were really delicious were the burrata, meatballs and the Bolognese pasta. The polenta was ok; the grilled octopus - mushy. The place does not feel cozy or authentic; just big hotel restaurant.
Good ambience and service. But the Food is Excellent. Our of all the places that I have tied in the city (many) I think they have the very best Burrata and Rissotto. I also love their Mushroom Pizza. I think all of their food including the cauliflower tempura, tomato basil soup and ceasar's salad are excellent.
Enjoyed the food and ambiance. The service was good, not great. The manager and server both would ask if we wanted anything but neither bright it until we asked a second time.
Food had very bad taste.
Table of six, 5 of them did not like their plates.
Excellent venue for a business meal for special occasion. Food was exceptional and the customer service was on point. Atmosphere was great, perhaps a little loud, but that added to the vibe of the venue.
