Good food, enormous cake.
Filini has an excellent menu and great ambiance. We visited Filini for wine and appetizers. Service began strong, however quickly deteriorated. We ordered focaccia for the table which took 45 minutes and several requests to finally get. When we received it, there were two pieces for 4 people. By this point we were over it and requested our check. The manager was apologetic and comped our focaccia, but it should not have gotten to that point.
We had lunch on a quiet Monday. There was barely anyone else dining. The ambiance was nice and the food was good. The waiter was adequate. Plan ahead if you are valet parking as you have to pay at the front desk. When we were there one person was attending the front desk and there was a line of people waiting. We waited a good 10 minutes just to pay for the valet. When you are on a schedule that can be a problem. I commented that they should have someone to help her but she didn't seem to care.
The Mother’s Day brunch was excellent and most importantly the musicians were fabulous!! Such great selections of music and their performance was very enjoyable!
Terrible service. Poor waiter seemed to be the only server working. Had tables all over restaurant AND outside while 2 managers wandered aimlessly doing nothing. Long wait for a burger and then got cold fries. With so many choices in chicago.....go elsewhere.
Was unreasonably loud, food was cold when it came out, and only saw our waiter once the entire meal.
The service was very slow. We waited 30 minutes for our food (during lunch) and went if finslly arrives, we both got the wrong thing! It took another 5 minutes for us to tell our waiter about the mistake, then another 10 minutes to get the food we ordered.
They were very apologetic and gave us one of our lunches free, which was very nice.
The service was way too slow for a business lunch and the Caprese Panini was disappointing.
Outstanding service, great flexibility. Everyone, kids through business professionals enjoyed the meal.
Outstanding food and service. Our waiter was available but not intrusive, particularly great for a long breakfast.
Very good food and selection for lunch. Noise level was very high making difficult to engage in business conversation. Service was very good as well. Willing to give it another but a for pleasure or casual event.
Filini was a great find. It was available via the Chicago Pedway from Swissotel. So, when weather is bad, it is a short walk in the Pedway. The food was amazing! The pasta was homemade. The serving sizes were appropriate and the service was fabulous!
Extremely slow service even though there were only 8 other tables with patrons. We waited for over an hour for our appetizer and another 45 minutes for our food, which was then cold! Waiter brought us two of the same appetizers even though we only ordered one and then charged us for both. Portions are small - especially for an Italian restaurant. I would never go back. There are so many great places to eat in Chicago - this is not one of them.
Great experience, great food, professional service.
The restaurant is gorgeous! We came late on a Thursday so it wasn't busy at all and we were seated at a great booth on the window. The service and wine were great. The only thing I'll say is that our entrees, while delicious, were pretty much the size of tapas plates - I ordered scallops and my husband ordered fish and with no appetizer, salad, dessert or coffee, one glass of wine and a Bloody Mary the final bill was over $100. So value for the money, not so much, but I will say that everything else outweighed it. The server did warn me that the dish wasn't for a big appetite. Would still go again.
We had a lovely meal, great wine, fantastic service and a complimentary birthday surprise. Thank you so much... we will be back!
Was disappointed in taste of food....just average. Found on Tripadvisor...had a special weekend with my husband and we thought we would try to Brunch before leaving town. Our waiter ....Michael was good...but food didn't ...WOW.....us. Would not recommend or be back....sorry!!
Out neighborhood go to restaurant. Great service. Good food and pleasant atmosphere. Outdoor dining is fun. Inside is noisy unless the restaurant is I filled.
Great space. Ok food. Interesting drinks. Place is dead...needs a reboot, I think.
Food quality has gone down a bit. Space needs acoustic treatment.
Great food!! Would be my east loop go to!!
Overzealous bussers kept taking plates and silverware while people were still eating. If we were in a packed restaurant- I’d understand the need for turnover, but the place was pretty empty.
We were staying at the Radisson with out of town guests. We have two young children and our friends had a newborn baby. We dined early. 6 pm. The restaurant was fairly empty at this time. The restaurant was very nice, good ambiance, not what I would consider a family place, but it was in the hotel we were staying. All of the service was very good, attentive and patient with the young children. They had a childrens menu too. The cheese and meat plate was nice as were our other appetizers. I had the gnocchi for my main dish and my husband had the scallops. I would say the main dishes were good, but not the best part of the meal.
Our food was very good. Our server was great. A great restaurant to have available when staying at the hotel.
Our family of four went for Christmas dinner. The only option for ordering was the 4-course special menu, and not the regular a la carte menu, as touted would also be available online. Our college-aged kids thought the meal was good, but would have preferred regular options. At $65 per head, the portions were truly tiny - especially the entrees. While good quality, there was just so little. We didn’t expect a gluttonous portion, but 4 bites of duck was hardly enough to call a meal.
The pancakes at the buffet station was hard as a rocket, apparently from being there too long.
Great restaurant for relaxing, reasonably priced dinner downtown. Friendly service, relaxing atmosphere. Great cheese-salami platter, grilled octopus. Nice wine selection.
This is the 4th year my friends and I have gathered at this venue to exchange Christmas presents. We make a meal out of several appetizers and wine. The service is great and they tolerate our unwrapping gifts. We will be back.
Pasta sauce was too salty. Pork chop not well seasoned, too fatty.
Food was excellent and the staff was very accommodating! My Team and I will definitely be coming back!
We enjoyed the experience overall...the restaurant was lovely and the service was superb. The mussels app was okay but quite fishy tasting and smelling, and we love mussels normally. I had the Cornish game hem and the hen was delicious but the squash side was not very tasty and the broccolini was pretty good but overly oily. My husband had the halibut and thought it was way overcooked. The panna cotta dessert was nummy...tough call but probably won’t go back. Sorry.
We came here prior to a dance performance at the Harris. It was a beautiful dining room with great city street views. Vibrant bar on level one. Great food with just The right amount of spices. Would highly recommend the octopus appetizer. The menu could have used a few additional entrées and vegetable options. Service was friendly and efficient. Will come back.
The carbonara ($18) was so small that it could have been a stingy appetizer instead of the main course it was advertised to be.
Although the food had flavor, it was not worth the price that was charged.
Excellent Italian wines available by the glass. An upscale dining venue located in attractive contemporary architectural landmark. Enjoyable!
We shared a salad and spaghetti with meatballs. The salad was pretty good but the meatballs tasted strange. I had $13 glass of wine and it was quite good.
From the start everything was perfect. We were greeted by a lovely young woman, our waiter Yosef was attentive and helpful. We ordered the house salad, which was tasty, I had ham and cheese pizza and my husband had salmon. Every morsel was good!
Food was spectacular, service was great...A bit pricey, but worth it
Had gone once previously. It was excellent
Went again 18 months later. Opposite experience. Food blah at best. Service unexceptional.
Won't go back
Our meal was excellent. My pork chop was amazing and the sauce on the asparagus was to die for.
