What Insiders Are Saying
FIG is an all-around solid restaurant but that Happy Hour of theirs is the best on the Westside.
We dine there 10 times a year or more. Always good food
Fig at 5P Cant beat it. The food is fantastic and you can't beat the price for happy hour.
It was so lovely. Great ambience and excellent food.
We’ve eaten at Fig previously and we very impressed. They’ve changed a number of items on the menu, apparently a new chef, and we were extremely dissatisfied. No longer one of our favorite restaurants!
Terrific food and service. Can't go wrong with any item on the menu.
The atmosphere is terrific. Such an upscale, casual vibe. And, the hostess was lovely. Very accommodating and communicative. After that, it goes downhill, mostly service-related. Couple of key issues - (1) Incredibly hard to get and keep the attention of the waiter and it wasn't even that busy. For instance, we waited 15 minutes for initial drink order and had to be flag him down constantly to re-order drinks, (2) we asked for mayo and other items multiple times without receiving them, (3) our dirty plates weren't cleared between courses, (4) the side dishes for our entree were brought out as appetizers and finally, (4) the crab pasta just tasted off (not a service issue, but it became one, because no one ever checked on us after the entrees were brought over. All in all, quite disappointing. We really wanted to enjoy it, especially since it was Mother's Day, but we just couldn't. There's better in town, especially in terms of in-hotel dining.
Mother’s Day brunch
Food is delicious. Portions are very small for the price.
Outstanding in all ways!! Celebrated our sons graduation from LMU. Perfect place to do so!!
Great place for a date during the day. Also a great spot to bring a client for lunch. The ambiance was really nice and the service was very attentive. Food was served at a perfect temperature and came out at a decent time.
Outstanding food and service. Happy hour deal fantastic!
I had a friend come from out of town for a day and we decided to spend it in Santa Monica, with FIG as the start of the day. I expected it to be swankier, like the rest of the hotel. Not so. We did get seated poolside as requested on Opentable, but it felt like more like you were at your friend's condo community pool.
We ordered the spritzers on the recommendation of the server. We wished we hadn't. They were really unspectacular, like watered down Mountain Dew. Neither of us could taste the grapefruit or rose in it.
We then ordered the donut and potato apps. The tomato sauce that the perfectly crisped and hot potatoes sat in was cold. Not right. And the donuts were not warm either, but we got them on the recommendation of the server. Edible but not great at all. The lemon ricotta pancakes were excellent and redeemed the whole visit! BUT again temperature wise, what was up? ...did the server just not bring it out when the order was up? Not really sure.
Service was great in that he forgot about us, and we could really talk and catch up leisurely.
It was an okay visit, but I would take my brunch money elsewhere next time.
This is our second time dining here and we loved it just as much as the first! We sat in their solarium, which has great ambiance. Highly recommend their happy hour!
Most awesome happy hour ever! This is the best value in Santa Monica, between 5-6 pm.
The best in Santa Monica!
Fun people. Attentive wait staff from bus people to servers. Great teamwork.
Great brunch spot even for a local
Consider this is 4 star hotel restaurant, I was quite shocked low level of food and service. Our table was dirty ( crumbs on the table..) so we asked waiter to clean. He came back with drinks instead of clothes.. we asked again to clean before he put drinks on the table. He told me “it’s not that dirty. But I’ll clean’ .. another guy passed plate reached over me ( not good manner restaurant etiquette) . We mentioned this to manager but she had slight attitude and try to tell us excuses (insult my intelligence..) We were so unhappy about how she handled it. ( at the end she took $50%off of our bill)
Food was not so good. Pancake texture was not so good and egg was over cooked and crumbled with watery veggies. So disappointed.
My friend and I both got sick after eating there!! First time that has happened. Not fun!
While I love Delicious Healthy New Seasonal Farm to Table Dishes and Top Notch Service at 50% Off. In 2 weeks some Entree Prices has Increased $10-$12. I think Fig Needs to Readjust and Substitute or Lower Entree Prices.
Since I Drive 40 miles RT to Santa Monica, I Either Come every 2 weeks or Order More Appetizers and No Entree.
We had a nice brunch at Fig. Was a bit disappointed in our table location considering I had made reservations weeks in advance. Our waiter was very attentive and everyone enjoyed their food.
Great food, great service, excellent wine suggestion after I described what I was looking for.
Requested a patio table, but had to request again upon arrival. Opentable amend to reservation time didn’t work which caused confusion. Food was nice but nothing blew me away, which I would expect for the price. Servers were lovely. Cheese board serving size was very underwhelming!
We had a nice table for 4 and all of us had a great time. The food was average but no complaints because of the Happy Hour prices.
Food was good however the service was horrendous. They need to put more waitstaff during prime breakfast time.
There were 6 of us at table. (Apr 14 2019) All the dishes looked great. My scrambled eggs, which arrived with a simple but lightly/tastefully dressed salad, were moist and hot. Not a complicated dish, but nicely prepared and presented. My wife's lemon-ricotta pancakes set a hard-to-match standard for that brunch favorite around town. Fig's is the best version. And serving it with room temp butter is a stroke of culinary thoughtfulness. Again, simple but perfect. Looking forward to our next visit.
Our friend’s birthday went unacknowledged until the end of the meal after we had ordered and eaten dessert even tho I mentioned it when making the reservation, at check in and to our server who asked me to spell the name of the birthday person. Finally a manager brought over a plate of macarons with a candle. Too little-too late.
The service was just fair-non attentive. The bar ran out of ice cubes so crushed ice was substituted which was not what we asked for.
All food came in rapid succession with the appetizer served last!! Food was ok but nothing to rave about.
We will not return, obviously!!!
I could go on and on but I think you get the point.
Please notify the Miramar Hotel/FIG that my guest yesterday has a disability and uses a walker. The lift from the lobby to FIG was broken - she had to walk up a rather steep ramp into the kitchen storage area in order to get to the restaurant. The concierge said that she has complained to the hotel many times but it has not been taken care of.
Food was great but service is slow and happened to be sitting next to a creepy guy
The wild mushroom ravioli was full of mushrooms and well-bathed in sauce. Pasta itself was perfect. The fresh Spring peas tasted of the garden and were of proper consistency. The food is as good as it was on our last visit 5 years ago.
Best food, great happy hour deals, and amazing convo with waiter. 10/10!
I'm Fed up with High Prices for Mediocre Food Everywhere. Best Get Together with Friends Meal at Reasonable Prices with FIG's Daily Happy Hour for Healthiest and Freshest Farm to Table Cuisine.
Great food and service. Definitely sit outside on a sunny day!
Love the atmosphere - chic greenhouse vibe with succulents, Edison bulbs, and a nice view of the pool. Great spot to take out of town guests. Brunch is a good value considering the area. Staff has always been super friendly. Amazing happy hour from 5pm-6pm. Only negative is the noise level during dinner.
Very good selection of cheese. However the entrees were nothing special. The pork chop was huge and nicely seared but the fat was not rendered out correctly. I expected a lot more from a restaurant this famous.
Kitchen was apparently backed up but there we were heavily compensated and the food was still excellent.
Waiter Jordan is sooo great! Thank you for a fantastic night
Pretty place. The floor however was filthy. What must the kitchen look like????? Breakfast was tasty.....but a bit overpriced
