What Insiders Are Saying
FIG is an all-around solid restaurant but that Happy Hour of theirs is the best on the Westside.
Great pasta, salads and drinks - service was friendly and attentive.
The meal and service at FIG were very disappointing. I have been to FIG before and had a lovely meal and service, so this surprised me. At first the waiter was rude to us and would not answer my friend's questions, later during our meal his attitude got better, but it was rocky at the start. The main complaint, though, is the halibut. It was overcooked, watery, and had zero seasonings. It had absolutely no taste. Not too impressed by the situation and even with the menu being 1/2 off from 5-6 p.m. I'm not sure I would choose to come here again.
I didn't like my first meal and our server immediately replaced it with a cup of soup until my meal came which was delicious. I love the ambience and the food!
A creative menu of locally sourced produce in the heart of the Fairmont Hotel. Lunch time can be noisy as some tables are just a little too close for comfort. Overall a good location for most for business meetings or just brunch with friends. Added bonus of discounted valet parking.
Exceptionally good food, great staff - Matt is a great waiter and a just all round good dude - a bit pricey compared to some other options in the area but tied to a high end, guess it's to be expected.
I'd recommend and we'll definitely go back.
Excellent food, impeccable service. One of my favorite restaurants in town.
Loved the atmosphere at Fig. The food was delicious... I got the lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry butter and my husband ordered the kimchi fried rice with poached eggs. Highly recommend both dishes. I feel the price was fair for the quality of food and for the atmosphere of the restaurant. Service was good... it just took a while for us to get our check considering it wasn't too busy at the time, but not a big deal. Would definitely come here again.
The food was bland, the meal was expensive for what we received and the service wasn't great.
Had a nice breakfast, sat indoors, service was very good and all the food tasted very nice. Was higher end on prices but we knew that from checking out the menu first.
Would come again
Great food, amazing service, and great recommendations from the waiter Jordan.
The burger was divine. We came here for lunch midweek. The atmosphere was so lovely that I felt like I was on vacation. The service was great. Overall, a fantastic experience.
We had breakfast at FIG. Unfortunately, we had to wait very long for the food to be served.
maybe yes. Last ate here in February-- much quieter, better menu. My braised beef ribs were dry and my guest fish was just okay
It took them 45min to take an order for breakfast and another 45min to bring them. Nothing of the food or the ambiance was special. Do not sit outside as you will be sitting by the pool as if it is 3 star all included holiday village. Just do not bother going to this reataurant.
The service was excellent. We went for weekend brunch, and the menu options were delicious. I also loved the ambience.
good food, nice ambiance but between appetizers and dinner we waited 45 minutes at least. a bit noisy if you want to talk as well
Dinner while vacationing in California. Happy hour is the best I’ve come across - entire menu 50% off. Food & service were awesome. Great wines by glass. Loved the oysters & hamachi crudo. Best was the bread balloon.
Cocktails are so good here. Recommend the cucumber press! Everything on the menu was great
Nice place for Breakfast. Really busy and really loud. Took a very long time to get our food, but it was very good. Not the restaurant’s fault, but Valet was horrendous. Took me almost an hour to get my car. I understand they want to make hotel guests a priority, but it was really ridiculous. My advice, park on the street or in one of the near by self park lots ... unless you have a lot of time to kill.
The food fell short, and not much ambiance. It’s probably a better lunch spot. Next to the hotel pool.
Lovely restaurant, innovative interesting food, good service. The only downside is the noise level is really really bad unless you score a table outside. The happy hour seems to spill over and everyone is very...um..happy and LOUD. A kind hostess said she would text us when a better table was available, so we went to the lobby bar for a drink. We also had breakfast and lunch there during our stay and again, great food and service, but really bad acoustics.
Sat on the outside by choice for the 5:00 pm happy hour specials (50% off all menu items and drinks). Outside seating is next to the hotel pool and facing west towards the setting sun. It can become very warm but the ambient noise level is much lower than inside. Good experience but advance reservations for the happy hour times are essential.
Great food, great staff and all 5 of us loved our food from appetizers, entrees, wine and a peach desert! Yum!!!
Our first visit to Fig was wonderful. The food was outstanding as was the service.
Little disappointed that we were overlooking the pool, otherwise GREAT and we will be back.
We ordered from the Dine LA menu. While it was limited both our selections were delicious. Our server was amazing. We’ll go back.
Nice outdoor seating option overlooking the pool. Love that the food is organic and sustainable. Yummy too!
Went with my wife for dinner and had one dineLa meal appetizer and drinks. Food is good ambience is nice service was OK. The only disappointment was when we got the bill. I’ve been coming here for 10 years for dining and for Diane & LAs and was a little taken back by seeing they charged 20% gratuity on the entire bill and then 10.25% Santa Monica tax on the bill and gratuity. I don’t understand how that could be ethical or legal especially without Any notification
Lovely ambience and great service/waiter--Jason. Like the outside bar for a cocktail before dinner.
Amazing in every way
We didn’t know the dineLA menu was not offered on the weekend. Disappointed, at first, but our waiter, Jerry, was wonderful and our selections off the brunch menu was delicious. It was a joyful lunch...we will be back! Thank you.
The food was very good and the setting quite nice, but the service very slow...
Delicious food, classy and comfortable ambiance, attentive yet discreet service.
After all the reviews I decided to try this place. I still can’t understand all the hype about this place. Way over priced, tasteless food. I ordered a drink first then my meal. My appetizer came, no drink, once they cleared the appetizer, the entree came within 3 minutes, still no drink! The waiter asked me what I ordered 4 times! Write it down if you have horrible short memory recall. This pretentiousness of not writing stuff down is ridiculous. It doesn’t make you a better server, in fact, the complete opposite!
I ordered the spinach salad which was definitely not worth $16. It was spinach with 3 small pieces of bacon. No pepper offered!
The Branzino I ordered per the recommendation of the server. It was luke warm and flavorless!
Luckily it was happy hour so I didn’t have to pay full price! This was NOT worth the $77 price tag!
Horrible! By far, one of the worst meals I’ve had in Santa Monica! I should have known better that over priced, pretentious hotel food does not make for a good meal! My bad!
I’ll never dine here again! At least if I’m the one paying!
Food was super yummy. Balloon bread is a must have in spite of the price.
Food are just ok. I try the dine LA price was ok ...
Felt neglected by our server. The food was average. My husband and I were disappointed.
Had reservation for early dinner at Fig, to our surprise it was during a half price happy hour promotion. All cocktails, wine, food half price! Three of us shared plates of rosemary fries w avocado ranch dip, delicious, Jamburi chicken wings(ok), truffle mushroom arugula pizza (yum, would benefit from a drizzle of truffle oil), and blue cheese stuffed dates. Sat outside, absolutely gorgeous setting with gardens & pool. Had a refreshing cocktail similar to a Paloma and a glass of rose’ Champagne. Water on table was constantly replenished. Really unique setting, I recommend a visit!
