About Fifth Season
Local farms and waters are the inspiration for this New American restaurant that focuses on preparing menus using ingredients that change with each season. American microbrews and wines are carefully selected to pair with each dish our chefs create. Enjoy our House-Infused Artisanal Cocktails made with seasonal purees and fresh squeezed juices while overlooking the Long Island Sound on either the outdoor patio, upstairs seating or cozy lounge. Established in 2004 in Greenport, this Zagat top-rated restaurant for both food and service moved in Spring 2008 to Port Jefferson harbor. Fifth Season Ratings and Reviews
Fifth Season is a Port Jefferson treasure! My husband and I dine there whenever we are in the Village. This is also a good place to bring guests. The ingredients are local, and I believe the wines are also regional. The menu varies by season, as the restaurant's name suggests. Most recently, I ordered the Peconic Bay scallops, which were accompanied by chopped root vegetables. Brussels sprouts never tasted so good! My husband, bless him, had the Mac and Cheese, but first we shared a healthy, fresh green salad, which the kitchen split for us. There is a tempting variety of desserts. Everything is creatively prepared and presented, by friendly (but not over- friendly) , efficient servers. On another occasion, we arrived early and sat at the bar, so I can attest to the "vibrant bar scene." This would also be a good spot for lunch, as the menu includes casual fare. There are outdoor tables in summer. Highly recommended!
This was a return visit for us to meet NY friends for dinner. We made a reservation and requested the table we had last year enjoying a quiet corner upstairs. They accomadated our request and the restaurant called to confirm our open table reservation .
The wait staff is friendly, knowledgable and polite. The food was great. We opted for the prix fixe and the soup and salmon entree did not disappoint. The flourless chocolate cake was superb .
We will return again.
My boyfriend and I went to Fifth Season for the first time during restaurant week and it was worth every penny. We made a reservation and we were seated as soon as we arrived. the waiter was attentive to us immediately and our drinks came in a timely manner.
the food was amazing. I has the duck breast and the mix of flavors melted in your mouth and my boyfriend had the short ribs. he's a big foodie with meats and he said it was the best he's had. overall we had a great experience, staff was friendly, food was delicious and we will be coming back.
I never write reviews, but this place deserved it. Also, mind you, I had to write this review 2 minutes after I left. I have to start off by saying our server Jackie was INCREDIBLE..... best server I've ever had and was so sweet and personable. Second, Luis... our busboy, was so amazing and right on top of everything, the best. The food was outstanding and the best meal my boyfriend and I have ever had... we had the filet mignon and the duck.. cooked exactly how we wanted. I can't wait to come back here just for the service. Don't get me wrong, the place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, but the kindness and hospitality made it unforgettable.
The Fifth Season...
Is one of my favorite places. Our visit during Restaurant Week was not a great choice. It’s a smallish spot, bar and big dining room upstairs, small dining room down. It was packed, so we waited for our reserved table and were eventually seated in the downstairs room. We were beginning to think we’d made a mistake, but were relieved when the food was cooked and presented with The Fifth Season’s usual style. I had the duck, my friend had salmon. Both were perfectly cooked and the accompanying veg was delicious. For gluten free eaters, organic lovers and free range peeps, this is the place.
My husband and I took his 87 year old mother here for her birthday, and everything was great! Our server Erin was lovely and attentive, and the food was great. We had the shrimp bisque, filet, salmon, and short ribs, each dish was enjoyed. My only complaint about the restaurant is that there wasn’t an easily accessible entrance for those patrons with mobility issues. We parked in the handicap spot but still had to walk around the restaurant to get in. Other than that, would highly recommend this restaurant.
We had a very enjoyable dinner before a show at Theatre Three. Because of the timing we were able to take advantage of the prix fixe menu which was a nice surprise. The pumpkin ravioli were the highlight of the night. We definitely have to get back there before the menu changes! A delicious cappuccino accompanied the chocolate cake. Yum!
Quite possibly the best restaurant I’ve ever had the pleasure to eat at. You can tell the chef is very mindful of what is served and the menu follows a seasonal theme. The food is divine, everything cooked perfectly. This place is perfect for a real treat that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
We took the ferry from Bridgeport for a friend's birthday celebration. I found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. I did expect more water views, so we ate in the bar area and gave up our table in their lovely, seasonally decorated dining room. The menu also had a great seasonal flair, starting with the apple cider martini, the best ever mac and cheese with short ribs, and most delicious pumpkin cheesecake and apple a la mode. Our waitstaff, Nicole and servers, were right on top if it and made us quite comfortable. To top it off there was a lovely guitarist playing during dinner hour. A wonderful experience and will definitely be back.
