About Fifth Season
Local farms and waters are the inspiration for this New American restaurant that focuses on creating menus using ingredients that change with each season. American microbrews and wines are carefully selected to pair with each dish our chef creates. Enjoy our House-Infused Artisanal Cocktails, made with seasonal purees and fresh squeezed juices, while overlooking the Long Island Sound on either the outdoor patio, upstairs seating or cozy lounge. Established in 2004 in Greenport, this Zagat top-rated restaurant for both food and service moved in Spring 2008 to Port Jefferson harbor. Please note that we require credit card information to reserve parties of 10 more.

Fifth Season Ratings and Reviews
We had a very nice, quiet anniversary dinner on a Sunday evening. My wife enjoyed a vegetarian selection and I had roast duck preceded by a potato and leek soup. Both were well prepared and served in a timely manner. We have visited this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed.
This is my third visit and meal wise it was the best one so far. On my first visit I had a so-so roasted chicken dish (kind of dried out though I was happy that the chicken was organic); on my next visit I had a disappointing and not very savory vegetarian special (it had vegetables and cheese in a corn pancake - two other people at my table had it as well and didn't care for it); and my third visit was the best meal (the duck.....SO good) but the bartender didn't know how to make a Robroy or a Saserac (sp? ) or even how to improvise one. The size of the cocktails are a nice surprise but the specialty cocktails appeared to be on the overly sweet/candy-side.
The staff is always friendly and very accommodating. Prices are ok considering how much it seems to cost these days and the wine list provides some good lower end wines. Love the fun "surprise" gift cards.
Everyone in our party ate every morsel on every dish they were served and raved about how delicious it was. Even though I knew exactly what I wanted before sitting down, I decided to change to the lobster tail special. It was fabulous! The gulf shrimp appetizer was an inventive take on boring shrimp cocktail. I loved the addition of jalapeño. And what can I say about the Pecan Pie Sundae (with bacon) for dessert except, Yes Please! And I may be slightly addicted to your Pomegranate Margaritas. New favorites will replace my old favorites when the seasonal menu changes but I can always hope to see them again. We love the Fifth Season!
Fifth Season always delivers a delicious meal, a great experience and has a wonderful staff. We’ve had a great experience every time we’ve gone. We’ve met up with friends, celebrated anniversaries and even dropped in for a quick bite and a drink. Always left happy!
My husband and I celebrated his birthday at Fifth Season on a December evening mid-week. We were told when making reservations that there would be no seating UPSTAIRS, but we were not told that most of the downstairs would also be closed off. When we arrived, we were ushered into a tiny room where the tables were positioned on top of one another. I was not comfortable, and asked to be seated in a bigger space and was told there were private parties in the rest of the restaurant. Okay. We started dinner with an Espresso Martini (perfectly made) and a Banana Martini (too sweet but well prepared and pretty). Appetizers were a seasonal sweet potato soup with the emphasis on sweet. There were too many layers in the soup: the ginger and creme fraiche would have been sufficient: no honey in my soup, please! The wontons were excellent and creative. Dinner: I had chicken; my husband had salmon: both excellent. Dessert was an enormous dish of three different gelatos: the fig was outstanding.
The service was excellent, and the food was well-prepared and creative. The room, however, was cramped and a little noisy.
Fifth Season is a Port Jefferson treasure! My husband and I dine there whenever we are in the Village. This is also a good place to bring guests. The ingredients are local, and I believe the wines are also regional. The menu varies by season, as the restaurant's name suggests. Most recently, I ordered the Peconic Bay scallops, which were accompanied by chopped root vegetables. Brussels sprouts never tasted so good! My husband, bless him, had the Mac and Cheese, but first we shared a healthy, fresh green salad, which the kitchen split for us. There is a tempting variety of desserts. Everything is creatively prepared and presented, by friendly (but not over- friendly) , efficient servers. On another occasion, we arrived early and sat at the bar, so I can attest to the "vibrant bar scene." This would also be a good spot for lunch, as the menu includes casual fare. There are outdoor tables in summer. Highly recommended!
This was a return visit for us to meet NY friends for dinner. We made a reservation and requested the table we had last year enjoying a quiet corner upstairs. They accomadated our request and the restaurant called to confirm our open table reservation .
The wait staff is friendly, knowledgable and polite. The food was great. We opted for the prix fixe and the soup and salmon entree did not disappoint. The flourless chocolate cake was superb .
We will return again.
My boyfriend and I went to Fifth Season for the first time during restaurant week and it was worth every penny. We made a reservation and we were seated as soon as we arrived. the waiter was attentive to us immediately and our drinks came in a timely manner.
the food was amazing. I has the duck breast and the mix of flavors melted in your mouth and my boyfriend had the short ribs. he's a big foodie with meats and he said it was the best he's had. overall we had a great experience, staff was friendly, food was delicious and we will be coming back.
