Fifi's Seafood Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I have no idea what happened here but I can honestly tell you Fifi is no longer here. If she was, the place would not be missing their liquor license, it would be full, the food would be awesome instead of over cooked and the staff would be on their toes. Who ever heard of a restaurant in the beach that can't sell wine?
No wine or drinks available..horrible service. Advertised special appetizers not to be had. Why advertise them as specials? One out of four dinner entrees fifteen minutes later than others. " Your dinner will be out in two minutes". Ten minutes later " Your dinner will be out in two minutes ". Please, it only came out when I told them to forget it and take it of the bill. No apology , no manager . Not returning.
The owner approached our table, prior to our waiter even delivering water, and berated us after telling us that we were being obnoxious and that he heard we had been there for awhile without any intention of ordering. This was erroneous, disrespectful, and an embarrassment that one would jump to such immediate conclusions. Not only that, he almost refused to apologize, instead offering the poor, flimsy excuse that "The customer is always right" and he was fed "the wrong information." Still the service level was inexcusable.
The food was good, not great, but the overall experience left a poor taste in our whole party's mouth.
OK, not very interesting food; acceptable, not very attentive service; limited, kind of OK wine list. My husband's fried fish with rice and beans side was completely unexceptional. My hog snapper had great presentation but bland taste. Our waitress was unenthusiastic. With so many other places to go in Miami Beach, this one isn't worth the time or money.
Awful Paella Marinera, No Flavor at All, I was expecting a Moist Rice instead I was basically served Wet Rice Ala Soup. Truly disappointed in the Food and Service. I was approached 5 times asking me if I was done. $128.00 Dollars wasted, Best part of The Experience was Leaving...
From the moment we walked in until we left, the rude indifference of the staff - with busboy exception, was striking. the lobster appetizer, described as half a FL lobster tail, had a few small bites- this for $ 28. The shrimp entree, described as "large" shrimp, contained 5 smallish shrimp, tasting of iodine and overlooked. In all fairness, the whole hog snapper was very good and fairly priced. Service was terrible, we had over an hour wait for our entrees, and no one bothered to ask how things were. The initially friendly waiter seemed to disappear.1 dish out of 3 does not a dining experience make. Prices range from high to outrageous including a non- creative wine list. But most notable, no one there seemed to care. Instead of dining with friends in front of us, the owner might want to circulate and find out what her guests are thinking. Her loss- we are residents, not tourists, though no one should be treated with indifference. If you decide to go, keep the menu and check what you get against the description. Check your bill before paying. Take your own wine and pay the $20 corkage fee. The saving is worth it. And do not hesitate to reduce the 18% tip they added to the bill if service is bad. Better yet, go elsewhere.
Stone crabs were AWESOME! Better than Joe's Stone Crab. In the past, I've always had great paella there...took my out of town guests there for stone crabs and paella. Paella was cold gummy too much rice and not good. I was disappointed. I won't take my out of town guests there again but I will go again with my local friends/family and if I want stone crabs.
While they have a limited menu, their whole grilled snapper is good. It's too bad they don't have a more expansive choice of fresh seafood. When the specials are printed and don't change week to week, that's not a special! Also, any seafood restaurant with swai or tilapia on the menu makes one wonder ...
We were staying in Miami Beach and this restaurant was recommended on yelp for seafood… Which was what we were looking for. There were a few tables out front of the restaurant but very close to a busy street and it was a cool night so we ate inside. The restaurant definitely looks fancier from pictures but it was fine for a regular meal. I should say the seafood is amazing… Everything we ordered was great. The waitress however seem like she would rather be partying on South Beach than being a pleasant wait staff person. Also they have only beer and wine no cocktails.
