Fiesta del Asado

We visited on a Friday lunchtime. The restaurant was relatively empty so we could sit anywhere. We received excellent service from Maz. The food was good, but the wine list limited. All in all a decent, unhurried lunch but perhaps a little overpriced.

Service was brilliant waiter was very attentive, food was lovely had the steak and was really tasty.

Great decor and ambience - better than I expected. Morcilla and sausage good. Pinientos de piquillo a bit oliy and soft - pre-prepared? And no hot ones! Steak great and cooked perfectly. Sea bass also nice but the marinade was too strong and charred for this kind of fish. Wine good. Service great. Thanks!!

The ambience and food is outstanding. Tables are a bit too close together - my only pet peeve! Also more sides with the mains, I didnt want the chips, would have preferred creamy mash. Will certainly be back!

Food was outstanding service great booked with open table on the internet when we arrived there was no booking. Would rather phone the restaurant in future

A decent enough restaurant, very polite and friendly staff, service impeccable, food, for the cost was only average. Would probably go again, but won’t make a special effort.

I must admit I was disappointed on two accounts with my recent visit to Fiesta. I have always considered it to be one of the better restaurants to eat steak in Birmingham, but after deliberately describing how rare we wanted our steaks, they still came out overcooked and were not seasoned. Especially disappointing as one of our first choices was not available and that was at 6.30 in the evening.
My other gripe was that I was served and charged for a double shot of my chosen drink, without being asked first and I normally drink singles as doubles are very costly when you are on a budget.

We got of to a bad start by being told we had no booking, yet we did, and from then on it just became more disappointing. This is generally a great place to eat with great food, service,ambiance and an all round great experience. Unfortunately this was not to be, the service was poor, 20 minutes to get drinks served to our table, we were the only guests at this point, our main order was incorrect and the food in general was not great at all, it was a disappointment, will take some time before we go back which is unfortunate as this has always been a go to place for great food. Just hope it’s a one off

Have visited this restaurant a couple of times before and have never been disappointed. Booked to go on a Sunday afternoon with my partner and our friend. On arrival they had no idea about our booking despite open table sending me a confirmation email . Thankfully the restaurant was very quiet with only 3 tables occupied . Once seated we immediately asked for a jug of water, this took 30 minutes and 2 more requests . The waitress half filled our water glasses then took the jug away with her. My partners prawn starter was cold. There was a very long wait between courses. My pasta main was cold and I sent it back, on receiving another it was inedible. It tasted like oil. My creamed garlic spinach was disgusting and tasted like salty water. My partner then informed the manager. To be fair to him he was really good and couldn't do enough to try and compensate. I don't eat meat or fish and the only veg option was the one I'd sent back, he offered to make me something not on the menu however my companions had nearly finished their main. He bought me some complimentary foccacia which was good. My partner ordered a 2nd sauce for his steak as the first was very small, this never arrived however was put on the bill. Very very disappointed and doubt we will return. The two stars awarded are solely for the proffesional and courteous manager.

Staff lovely and attentive, very knowledgeable about anything on the menu. It was nothing special it was just ok, I had the sea bass and my husband had the fillet steak on the bone, he said it was nice but nothing outstanding, had better. Perhaps we expected too much as a few people hyped it up before we went. Couldn’t fault the staff though they were great and worked very hard. Also loved the vibe but would we go again probably not.

Absolutely lovely

First time I came it was excellent this time I was sadly disappointed.... First I said I didn't want water for table but was still given it and charged I think its very over priced just for a steak and rocket salad that wasn't the best at all

Well presented restaurant on the Hagley Road. We ordered these delicious Padron peppers, followed by a steak that was cooked to perfection & a fantastic dish with cod. Looking forward to our next visit!

Good food and set up for a Sunday late lunch / early dinner.

We went for our Daughters 30th birthday , we had a very enjoyable meal , Steaks were very nice , cooked to perfection and side orders were very tasty , all in all it was a lovely meal ,

Nice setting, pleasant waiter , good menu, freshly baked bread.
Despite a quiet saturday lunchtime, i would have liked to see managerial presence. Food was well presented and cooked. Good value , I would return at a busier time to see how it runs, since lots of preparation going on in the kitchen for the evening business

Very disappointed with fiesta this time around. For the price there is a lot of cost cutting going on. When we first use to go, the bread platter was large, u got more olives. Now you get one piece each and few olives. Steak was good but again the sides were smaller. The dessert was smaller and different to what I had expected. Overall I wouldn’t go again

The food was really good.
But the temperature in the restaurant was really low, and many of us were wearing the coat.

Somewhere new with my husband. Yum yum yumm, however I don't eat beef, there are a lot of chicken dishes available, would be nice to see more lamb.. immensely tasty food! Thanks!x

As always great atmosphere friendly staff and great food I have taken family and friends here
and they have enjoyed everything about it. 10/10

Birthday meal - amazing food, great friendly staff.

Booking arranged on strength of steaks. Underpopulated on the day. Intrusive loud business conversation from adjacent table when many other tables free.

BOOKED FOR OUR SONS BIRTHDAY AS HE IS A STEAK LOVER. HAD A LOVELY WINDOW TABLE ALLOCATED TO US. MENU WAS EXPLAINED BY THE WAITER. ALL FOOD WAS FANTASTIC.
I HAD PUT THAT IT WAS MY SONS BIRTHDAY ON THE BOOKING AND HIS DESERT HAD A CANDLE IN IT. VERY NICE TOUCH.
STAFF WERE CONCERNED WE WERE HAPPY WITH EVENING, A GENUINE CONCERN.

Food was excellent - rack of lamb done exactly medium rare and prawn linguine was an absolutely delicious 'one pot' masterpiece. Staff were great - they really seemed to enjoy working here.

If you like meat, you have got to try this place. Fabulous.

I was looking forward to eating at fiesta del asado as I had read somewhere that it was better than Gaucho's (London) and that is my favourite place for steak. Unfortunately I was let down, the steak was not cooked in the way I had asked, however the food was tasty it did not meet the standards you would expect for the price paid for the meal. They do not have a variety of steak sauces and the chimichurri was really bland. The waiter that we had was not particular helpful and didn't seem as though he had a lot of knowledge about the different steaks, when asked questions about particular cuts he she read from what was on the menu without elaboration.

Me and my partner had the rib eye steak. Best we've ever had! It comes with a very tasty dry rub and side salad. Very tasty, ordered side of spinach and fries but to be honest it didn't really need it. 10/10! We come at 6pm so place was quite empty but was packed when we left at 7:30pm.

Went there on 02/06/15, entered good steakhouse into Google and this came up as the 1st choice so off we went.
Booked the evening via their internet booking form, in arrival they had no knowledge of our booking but wee happy enough to seat both myself and my colleague which was a relief as we had walked a good distance to get there (2.5 miles).
Waitress that we had was obviously new as she forgot to bring our drinks to the table, ordered starters and the arrived within 25 minutes which was quite a wait seeing as there wasn't many other tables on. Food was full of flavour and looked nice, tasted as nice as it looked👍.
Main course ordered, can't remember the name but it was a 16oz steak from 1 muscle, it arrived and looked good and tasted delicious, was a wee bit tough or should I say tougher than I expected for a £26 steak, any how's finished the plate.
Service was bitty throughout the evening with our waitress making some mistakes during our time there.
Over all a nice place with lovely food, but it is expensive £95 for 2 steaks and 2 starters and a couple of soft drinks.

Food was prettty good and a great atmosphere but service wasn't great. Everything came much too fast and it seemed like they were trying to get you out the door as soon as possible. Bit of a shame really.

Birthday treat and what atreat it was , first time vist but it will not be last everthing perfect . we both had steak they both were cooked perfect the best steaks we have in years .The wine (Malbec )not to expensive was very good , the service from start to finish was first class.The whole experience was very good will definitly call again.

I took my son and fiance for a Birthday treat and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was perfect with cosy lighting and a pleasant buzz about the place. We maxed out on meat and had ribs to start followed a 40 ounce T bone to share. Th e steak was amazing....cut really thick and melting in the mouth. You won't need much to go with it!

This is our second visit to Fiesta del Asado. The first was for our daughter's 21st, which our son couldn't attend so this time we took them both along for a treat. Has to be the best steak anywhere we have eaten. This is truly an experience not to be missed. Superb service throughout the meal. We have recommended to several friends and will return again.

I enjoyed having dinner here with my partner but the service was too over attentive, the starters come out within seconds and the moment I had put my folk down it was gone, the staff tried really hard and I am greatful for that but it would of been nice to have a sip of my drink inbeween meals. I had ribeye steak for a main and I have to say that it was one of the best steaks I've had for a while. Cooked to perfection, tender and the rub they put on the steak was very tasty.
