Field's at the Wilderness Ratings and Reviews
The visit was overall great but the one thing was just beyond our expectations- the taste of the food!!!!the way food was seasoned and baked/cooked to perfection! My husband was cutting his steak into tiny baby portions just to be able to appreciate it's taste for longer. It was truly an unforgettable experience. Thank you!
We go to this restaurant every time we visit Wisconsin Dells and have never been disappointed. The food is absolutely delicious. The filets are amazing. The butter brickle dessert is the best dessert ever. The service is great. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place!
We arrived for an 8:30 reservation on a Saturday night, not knowing the kitchen closed at 9:15. We waited for menus for about 20 minutes, and were informed of the closure around 9:10. Already not a great start as we felt rushed. Ordered two bottles of Sauvignon Blanc, the first of which was just placed on our table - no ice bucket. The second of which was a bottle of Chardonnay. We were charged for two bottles of SV, and had drank maybe half a glass of the Chardonnay before realizing and notifying a staff member. By this time we were paid up and ready to go, but didn't want to leave without our correct bottle of wine, obviously. The woman we notified proceeded to pour out some of the new bottle to match it with the other...absurd that she would need to "even it out" due to their mistake. A male staff member saw and gave us a brand new full bottle, thankfully. Needless to say, we will not go back, which is a shame because the food was pretty good.
We were here for our anniversary and the restaurant was beautifully decorated and a romantic setting. The food was perfectly prepared with high quality ingredients. "You get what you pay for" is a fitting expression for this restaurant, as the prices were a little more than what we usually pay for a meal, but the food quality was on another level as well. We will be back again for some other special occasions. Very pleased with the service we received as well!!
A beautiful restaurant. The food was very good. My husband said his filet was excellent. My steak (New York strip) was a little tough but had wonderful flavor. The sides were delicious, as was the shrimp scampi appetizer. The portions were quite large.
The staff was amazing. Every employee was very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. This was the first time we'd gone to Fields at the Wilderness, but we plan on returning again and again.
We have enjoyed Fields in the past. However, I was disappointed in the last experience we had. It was for a business outing and we had a group of five. We arrived at our reservation time of 8:30 and asked if we could have a drink at the bar before being seated at our table. The hostess said that would be fine. The manager then interrupted and said we wouldn't have time since the kitchen was closing soon. From that point on, we felt rushed. When you have a group of five on a business dinner, I would think an extra 15 minutes for the added money we would have spent would have been worth it. Even if they didn't care about the revenue, they shouldn't take reservations that late if they want us out of there by a certain time. Fields is normally a good experience. I would just advise you not to make your reservations too late if you don't want to feel rushed.
Fields is one of my favorite restaurants. My family and I dined there for thanksgiving.
The meal was fabulous, but the service was "average". The service was not nearly as good as in the past. Because of that, our experience was not 100% positive.
Overall Field 's in a beautiful place with wonderful food and usually impeccable service. I guess everyone is allowed to have an "off" day.
We spent our untraditional Thanksgiving at Field's. Not only was the customary Thanksgiving meal offered, one could also order from the menu. Our small group chose the latter option, and we were all very satisfied with our choices. The service was outstanding, and we had our favorite table near the maitre d's station, so we visited with old friends and new ones, too, as they came into the restaurant. All in all, it was a very enjoyable holiday celebration.
Second time we’ve been here and brought family to celebrate Birthday and Anniversary. Food and service is impeccable. Absolutely hate that they made us all have one bill, they don’t split bills. There were 3 couples, put unnecessary pressure to pay bills and then my kids paid us back. They did offer to take 3 separate payments but then why not let us have separate checks at that point.
The staff was friendly and professional. But the place needs to be updated. Looks as if its still stuck in the 80's. The palm trees were on their last leg. The chicken picatta wad awful. Steak was not flavorful and the meal was overpriced for what you got. Will not be returning.
We were very disappointed. We indicated it was our anniversary, and instead of cozy and romantic, it was more like sitting in a cafeteria. Every table was filled in the section we were in and the rest of the restaurant was empty. We couldn't even have a conversation. The food was great though!
We went here for my Best Friends wedding anniversary. And I must say everything so amazing. The food, the drinks and the staff were just out of this world. I would recommend if your are ever in the Dells and looking for a fancy dinner out with fantastic food. Come to Fields At The Wilderness and enjoy every last bite.
