Enjoyed excellent Sunday brunch at the Fiat. The omelet with mushrooms and asiago cheese and the eggs benedict were very good. The place is tiny - reservation recommended.
The pasta is good. Only the waitress is too snobbish. Also the latte is too light.
Great quant location with great food and ambience.
Charming and hilariously small, but the Italian food was genuine and so was the service. Great spot - casual - I'd come back again and again.
Love the fish stew
Try the fish stew, you will love it.
INTERIOR SIZE: I had searched on OpenTable for a restaurant that could hold 9 people at a table and this was one of those suggestions. I'm surprised that this place would take a reservation for a group of 9 when we took up HALF of the place.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: The tight seating arrangement wasn't necessarily what bothered me; what bothered me was that upon arrival at exactly 11 am (our reservation time), there was no room for our group to sit. The waitress acknowledged our reservation and was expecting us, but she ended up making a few couple along the wall move to accommodate us. I did not want to burden OTHER customers' meals and I feel that the establishment should have set out signs to reserve the table to avoid interrupting other's meals and having us take up a lot of space. *HOWEVER* the waitress and waiter were both very kind and checked on us during the meal.
FOOD: *FROM BREAKFAST & LUNCH MENU --- NOT SPECIAL MENU* The food was nothing special. My browned butter ricotta ravioli was soaked in a sauce much more sour than I anticipated. My friend's eggs benedicts seemed good, and the linguini pasta with baby clams and pancetta was AMAZING.
OVERALL: a smaller group would be best suited for this cafe. My overall experience was average, nothing special, especially with the food. The dinner menu may be much better.
My husband and I were in town just for the evening and stumbled upon Fiat Cafe randomly. It was such a great find! I absolutely loved the ricotta ravioli with browned butter! Highly recommend!
This restaurant was small, intimate and very cozy, Food is homemade and very fresh. the butternut ravioli was delicious and everyone in our party enjoyed the meal and the ambiance. This was a no frills restaurant that was very neighborhoody.
The best Cappuccino in New York (and it’s an Italian to tell thai!!!)
Cafe Fiat must be one of the best finds in Soho. It’s authentic Italian Food on the edge of Little Italy. The food was delicious and incredibly reasonable. Pastas, eggplant parmigiana, chicken dishes that taste soulful and homemade. The staff are friendly, cheerful and helpful. It’s the best.
LOVE fiat and their staff! Can’t recommend it enough!
Small place tight tables but worth it The service and the food was good. The prices for a NYC brunch were definitely less than most brunch spots. The food was very fresh
Our waitress was wonderful and the food was delicious!!
Large portions, mediocre but inexpensive food. Very busy on a friday night, but service was actually horrible. The waitress repeatedly ignored our attempts to order.
Good bread and excellent coffee for breakfast.
I love Fiat cafe. So fresh and delicious-homemade pastas and authentic dishes. Also great prices!
I have eaten here many times and enjoyed it. However last time the arugla was full of sand. Also the chicken was not pounded enough it was too thick.
Wish it was made very clear on opentable that this is a cash only establishment.
My favorite place for wine and some pasta, simply incredible
Cute little cafe. The buratta with cherry tomatoes is a must try!
Food at Fiat Cafe is always delicious. It's one of my favorite go to spots to catch up with an old friend or for a casual date night. The dim lighting casts a romantic ambiance but it reminds me of sitting at a restaurant in Italy somewhere. The only downside is it's cash only but otherwise, everything is amazing.
This place does not disappoint. Very good pasta dishes.
Great quality food at very reasonable prices. The Ravioli and Rigatoni dishes were delicious. Tried two of the Bruschetta types as well - the eggplant one was especially tasty. Only complaint is that the restaurant is quite small, so can be a bit loud and cramped when at capacity. But overall, a great pick for causal dining at cheap prices with very good food.
Best italian in the city!! Takes me right back to the small authentic restaurants of Italy.
Our waitress was terrific, very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious, simple and fresh
Fiat is a cozy restaurant......cozy means it will seat 32-34 people at one time. It is a noisy restaurant but I think that is the charm. The service is nice because the restaurant is small and they are happy to address any issues with your food. The food was very good. We had the Ricotta Ravioli, Gnocchi and Fiat Penne and they were all good. My family cleaned their plates.
Two side notes. Mott Street is where they filmed part of the GodFather....scene where Marlon Brando's character had the assassination attempt. The other is that this is a CASH only restaurant. They have an ATM downstairs, however the first time I used it , it did not distribute any cash and flashed an error code very quickly forcing me to try the transaction again....which they deducted the amount from my account twice and now I am dealing with my bank.....so AVOID the ATM at the restaurant.
Small but good restaurant. Went for a brunch with friends and ended up having the Spaghetti Carbonara. This was delicious and there was plenty to eat!
Cozy place. Solid good pasta.
Thank you for your service, we love the place and we will definitely come back.
Just a casual brunch with my boyfriend. Glad I made a reservation in advance. Had the salmon eggs and of course, the carbonara and sangria. Relative to the price, the portion was great and the food was tasty. Highly recommend for casual brunch with friends or a date before or after you go exploring SOHO or LES. Enjoy!
Hidden gem in Little Italy
delicious food - I am still dreaming of it, great value, cute atmosphere. we had to wait 30 minutes from our reservation time before we were seated but were comped with a glass of wine - good customer service!
No frills. Great food in a casual environment. Great prices make this place a regular visit.
The best pasta of New York ! Too small place but Funny and very good service ! We love this place !
The service at this restaurant was very poor. They don't patiently take your order, the waitress made faces at us, wouldn't meet us in the eye. The food arrived 40 minutes after we ordered. Overall they were quite rude. Bad service for the price you pay.
really cute place and the food is great! All pictures of old fiats on the wall. We had brunch. they also have lunch and dinner. Service was very good. It is small but cozy.
GREATEST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO, I WANT TO GO BACK TO NYC JUST FOR THIS FOOD/EXPERIENCE!!!!!
Fiat is a wonderfully charming neighborhood restaurant with outstanding food. The pastas and salads wee not only well-prepared and tasty, they were also very reasonably priced - amazing for New York! I would highly recommend Fiat to anyone looking for charming ambience and great food.
They only take cash. We left.
