Fiamma Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
It was a busy November Saturday night, but service was very poor. WE had to ASK our waiter what the specials were. We had to ask another wait person to get our waiter so we could order another drink. Waiter was not attentive & really was a bit surly. One member of our party got lamb chops that were charred, NOT cooked to order. We used to love the food & service here but something seems very different the last 2 times we've dined here. The experience before was in October on a warm afternoon. We sat outside & had to go inside 3x to ask for water, for someone to take our order & for a 2nd glass of wine. Something seems very "off" & far different from the stellar service & delightful food we used to get here. Prices are very high if the quality of food remains mediocre & the wait staff is non attentive. All of our entrees were in the high $20s or low $30s.
Three friends and I went to Fiamma’s for an early dinner on Sunday. It was the first visit for all of us and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice.
We all had the specials, including the branzino, stuffed veal chop and rack of lamb and everything was delicious.
Fabrizio was not only a wonderful server, he also makes a mean martini!
Until our most recent dining experience, Fiamma has long been one of our favorite restaurants. Not sure what happened this time, but it was one of the worst service experiences we've ever had. Our table totally fell through the cracks...all night long! It took FOREVER to place our orders. We were there a solid 40 minutes b/f we were even able to place our drink orders! And, not sure why, but we were waited on by probably 6 different people. Nobody knew what was going on. When the salads finally came out, there were only 2 delivered of the 4 ordered. When the entrees came, there were only 3 of 4 brought. Like I said, the service was terrible. The food saved the night, as it did not disappoint. The staff tried to make up for the repetitive slip ups with two free desserts for the table. Nice gesture, we really didn't want dessert...it had been a very long dinner and we were ready to go home. But, it would have been great if they'd been able to comp. one of the bottles of wine or the salads that were forgotten or my entree that came 15 minutes after everyone else's. I'm just so sad about the night b/c we brought a couple of friends to one of our "favorites" and that was their first impression. Not sure when or even if any of us will be back )-:
Sadly the time of Fiamma may have passed. It had been several years since we last have eaten at Fiamma and time has been no friend to this restaurant. I'm curious if it has recently changed hands as the food was not exceptional like it had been. Now the food is just good. My rack of lamb was not cooked to my specifications and had to be returned. Still good value though, but certainly not worth a Zagat top rating in Charlotte. Service is definitely slow. I saw several patrons with expressions of "where is my waiter" on their faces after initially being seated. The table of two didn't bother to wait for their waiter and finally got up to leave. I had to leave urgently at the end of my meal and it was still exasperatingly long to get the bill even after I explained I had to urgently leave. I won't be returning.
I love the food at Fiamma. The food is creative and delicious. The prices are reasonable and generally the restaurant is quiet and relaxing. This last time the four of us sat outside. There were multiple people serving our table, i.e. bringing food, providing water and refills and clearing the table. We had a difficult time having orders taken ( asked 3 people for a glass of wine before the waiter showed up and he hadn't been told that) . So the only negative was the service, otherwise a delightful evening.
We have dined (and splurged) at Fiamma many times for special occasions and had good service. This visit was an exception. We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated immediately. However, we were not greeted by our waiter for 20 minutes. While the restaurant was busy, there was no excuse for not acknowledging us for that length of time. When the waiter finally came to our table, we ordered wine, appetizers, and entrees that subsequently arrived timely and was excellent. No complaints there. We were then treated to a complimentary dessert plate. The evening ended WITHOUT our waiter asking if we wanted coffee or an after-dinner drink. We have had better attention at chain restaurants. I will think twice before going to (or recommending) Fiamma when spending $200+ for a party of 3.
This was our first time here and it was recommended by a friend. It’s in an obscure strip mall, but well worth the trip. The staff is incredibly friendly and want to help in any way they can. The food was all incredible and so were the drinks. Everything was worth it. The only disappointment was that they forgot to check us in on Open Table, so it looked like we missed our reservation.
We were a party of seven and totally enjoyed ourselves. The bread and pesto they bring to the table ahead of time was fabulous. There breadsticks are to die for. The waiter read the all specials from memory, no notes and in great details. Our dinners were so delicious, a perfect meal and a perfect evening. Oh and the tiramisu was out of this world!!!
This was one of our favorite restaurants when we lived in Charlotte, but we will never return after what happened Saturday night.
Soon after ordering my wife (and son) realized she was being bitten by a fire ant colony by her chair on the patio. She was clearly bitten from her feet to her face. We moved tables and I ran to the pharmacy.
To add insult to injury, the food took nearly 45 minutes. When the check came - THEY DID NOT COMP A SINGLE THING!
Zero tip = not taking care of customers. Adios!
My wife and I had wonderful time at Fiamma's and we would recommend this restaurant for everyone. The food is out of this world! We had the pasta this time which was cooked to perfection and included meatballs and sausage. Our waitress, Monika, was a gem. She anticipated every need and made the night that much more wonderful. Thanks Fiamma!
Wonderful !! Surprised my wife for our anniversary and it was great. The food was delicious - try the calamari. It was nice and quiet and we went away happily stuffed. The dessert was really good too - tirimisu (forgive my spelling). Try it you will love it.
What a wonderful find! We were sheltering in South Park from hurricane Irma and came to Fiamma on a Sunday evening (just a 10 min. drive from the hotel). We had a terrific meal with very friendly and knowledgeable service being provided. My veal medallions (a Fiamma signature dish) were tender, perfectly cooked and accompanied by a delightfully light cognac sauce. The excellence of this dish belies the menu price. My wife asked for a simple pasta dish of her own design which the kitchen happily accommodated (also excellent). The wine selections, while not extensive, were carefully selected and perfect for the menu presented. All in all, a find to rave about. Go out of your way if you have to and visit Fiamma for a wonderful experience. You will not be disappointed.
This gem of a restaurant is hidden in a old strip mall style building. I have been several times and its my go to restaurant when friends come to visit. Food and service is always fantastic. Don't go on the weekend if your in a hurry. This is actually one of the remaining restaurants that's not so loud you can still have a conversation without screaming across the table.
What a night! We went there for our 1-year anniversary, and had the best experience you could ask for. They greeted us warmly, and Luiggi took great care of us. He recited the specials with expert accuracy, gave excellent recommendations, and was friendly throughout our meal. I would recommend this restaurant to any couple celebrating a special occasion, or to anyone else who wants delicious Italian food in a great atmosphere. Bravo!
