Fiamma Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I went with my wife to Fiamma for Charlotte Restaurant Week to try different places to eat. We were very impressed with the quality of food and service. We were even more impressed about the available selection compared to other restaurants in the area. I highly recommend it and I will be back to try something new on the menu
Food was excellent. Service also was excellent. Our server never made us feel rushed. He was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone at our table loved their meal. We all ordered from the Queens Feast/Restaurant Week menu, which was much more extensive than most other restaurants. The wines are pretty pricey in my opinion but I’m no expert. The place is rather small and the rear dining area felt cramped. Try to be seated in the front dining area. The noise level was low which allowed easy conversation. We all left happy from the experience. Nice place, good food, excellent service. Two 👍🏼 👍🏼 !
We went to Fiamma during restaurant week for a birthday celebration, food and service was outstanding! The place is very small but it didn't feel that way. Our waiter was very attentive, asked questions and made recommendations. I would recommend it to everyone!
It is impossible to eat their Mushroom and Truffle Tagliatelle without closing your eyes during every bite. Try it, I promise that it is so good, you'll consider not sharing with your wife.
This is my favorite Italian place in all of Charlotte. And my grandmother is from the old country!
Our food was delicious as usual at Fiamma! Our table setting had 2 dirty bread plates and our servers had a bit of confusion as to who was actually serving us. Two in our party asked for unsweetened tea with no lemon and one with no ice. They both had lemon and ice when they were served. It was corrected once it was brought to their attention.
There is a lot of good here! We had dinner, with reservations at 5:30 pm on a Saturday. There was a large party of 20+ and I think it slowed things down in the dining room. We were promptly greeted upon seating. Drinks took a while from the bar but were good. The recital of the specials is probably a bit of overkill. I don't need to know every individual spice--down to the sprinkle of chervil. The Buratta was a great, shareable appetizer with fresh buffalo mozzarella, bitter greens, grilled eggplant with roasted red pepper and proscuito so fine you could read through it. Then, we split the risotto of the day--Wild Mushroom. It was perfect, but so much of it and garnished with 6 shrimp and two sea scallops. It was too much even to split two ways--you could split it with four and still have enough for a risotto course ($34). Then, whole, boned branzino with turned potatos and spinach and veal chop with the loin removed, pounded and rolled around spinach, served with fresh gnocchi. The entrees were terrific, but by the time they came, we were gorged. We could not handle another bite, so we skipped dessert and coffee and waited 35 minutes for the check. We needed the check and we needed a walk a the longer it took the more it rankled. $160 with two cocktails and a glass of wine. $192 with tip.
We were greeted warmly and shown to our table immediately. Staff moved quickly to welcome us and offer us water and fresh bread. Our server Fabrizio, flawlessly recited and described the preparation of each starter and dish offered as a special that evening; and there were quite a few. Our drinks were served inconspicuously as we made our decisions and Fabrizio answered our questions about unfamiliar items on the menu. Our starters were interesting and delicious, the homemade pastas were really excellent and our main dishes were done perfectly and delicious. Very authentic Italian; reminded us of happy experiences in restaurants in Rome. We enjoyed our experience and recommend you join Fiamma Restaurant for dinner.
Server was the worst I’ve had in a long time (we sat upstairs, it was freezing, had to use blanket from our car to keep warm)
but the food was the best !
Mixed drinks were very inconsistent ... first one was excellent ... other 4 were
Waiter didn’t care
Fantastic, authentic Italian restaurant. Love this place. Closest Italian cuisine to The Hill in STL. We found our new home for Italian food. Servers are fantastic and ensure you have a good time and you are well taken care of.
Been to this restaurant before and had a 5star rating. Not this time, service was so-so. My husband had to ask three people to replace a light bulb because he could not see what he was eating. Finally someone took a bulb from another lamp which helped us but when the hostess tried to seat some people at the table with the missing bulb they wouldn't stay at the table too dark. Next people that did stay at the table had to use the flash light on theirs phones in order to read the menu. Very disappointed with everything except the food which was excellent as usual. Not sure I will return.
Decent place. Have been many times over the years.
Recent dinner was "OK."
Server was terrific.
Ambience really needs work - glaring fluorescent lights out of the kitchen.
VERY expensive if you combine ambience and location.
Need to bring their pasta prices back down --- $26-30 dollars for pasta in Charlotte ? Please....
It was a busy November Saturday night, but service was very poor. WE had to ASK our waiter what the specials were. We had to ask another wait person to get our waiter so we could order another drink. Waiter was not attentive & really was a bit surly. One member of our party got lamb chops that were charred, NOT cooked to order. We used to love the food & service here but something seems very different the last 2 times we've dined here. The experience before was in October on a warm afternoon. We sat outside & had to go inside 3x to ask for water, for someone to take our order & for a 2nd glass of wine. Something seems very "off" & far different from the stellar service & delightful food we used to get here. Prices are very high if the quality of food remains mediocre & the wait staff is non attentive. All of our entrees were in the high $20s or low $30s.
Three friends and I went to Fiamma’s for an early dinner on Sunday. It was the first visit for all of us and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice.
We all had the specials, including the branzino, stuffed veal chop and rack of lamb and everything was delicious.
Fabrizio was not only a wonderful server, he also makes a mean martini!
Until our most recent dining experience, Fiamma has long been one of our favorite restaurants. Not sure what happened this time, but it was one of the worst service experiences we've ever had. Our table totally fell through the cracks...all night long! It took FOREVER to place our orders. We were there a solid 40 minutes b/f we were even able to place our drink orders! And, not sure why, but we were waited on by probably 6 different people. Nobody knew what was going on. When the salads finally came out, there were only 2 delivered of the 4 ordered. When the entrees came, there were only 3 of 4 brought. Like I said, the service was terrible. The food saved the night, as it did not disappoint. The staff tried to make up for the repetitive slip ups with two free desserts for the table. Nice gesture, we really didn't want dessert...it had been a very long dinner and we were ready to go home. But, it would have been great if they'd been able to comp. one of the bottles of wine or the salads that were forgotten or my entree that came 15 minutes after everyone else's. I'm just so sad about the night b/c we brought a couple of friends to one of our "favorites" and that was their first impression. Not sure when or even if any of us will be back )-:
Sadly the time of Fiamma may have passed. It had been several years since we last have eaten at Fiamma and time has been no friend to this restaurant. I'm curious if it has recently changed hands as the food was not exceptional like it had been. Now the food is just good. My rack of lamb was not cooked to my specifications and had to be returned. Still good value though, but certainly not worth a Zagat top rating in Charlotte. Service is definitely slow. I saw several patrons with expressions of "where is my waiter" on their faces after initially being seated. The table of two didn't bother to wait for their waiter and finally got up to leave. I had to leave urgently at the end of my meal and it was still exasperatingly long to get the bill even after I explained I had to urgently leave. I won't be returning.
