Mark was our server/bartender and was FANTASTIC! Made great recommendations for us. Super attentive. Food was REALLY good! We will definitely be back!
I was so excited to visit this restaurant as I had been several years ago and it was great. This time, we had reservations for my husband’s 40th birthday. Unfortunately it was a total disaster. I guess things have changed! Our first clue should have been that the restaurant was empty of patrons with the exception of one elderly couple on a weekend at 6pm. Our next clue should have been that the whole place smelled very strongly of dirty mop. But we didn’t really understand that we had made a mistake until we had been sitting for 15 minutes in an empty restaurant with no one to even bring us water as the staff conversed loudly in the kitchen. One waiter was actually sitting outside on the phone. Finally, we just had to leave. Can’t comment on the food as we never got the chance to sample any. On the plus side, we ended up driving about 15 minutes down the road to Ilios Noche and had a fantastic meal with fantastic service. Save yourself the trouble and don’t visit Fiamma anytime soon.
Outstanding service and the restaurant was very busy. So many specials it was hard to choose. Second visit and we look forward to another one.
Amazing service and fabulous food. A real gem!
Excellent dependable Italian food with very good service
Amazing food and phenomenal service!!
I cannot say enough about how great this place was. The food. The service. All marvelous. Sea Bass. Stuffed Pork chop. Gnocchi. Bolognase. Carpacio. All wonderful. I will go back when I return to Charlotte.
Excellent food. Nice ambiance. Never had a bad meal here.
As always, this was a fabulous meal. The chef and staff are outstanding in what they do.
The food was good, but not amazing. We got the Chilean bass special which ended being $37.99, extremely overpriced for the amount of fish served. Will probably not return because of that reason. Overpriced.
Decor desperately needs updating. Food was solid Italian for CLT at good prices. Very nice wine list at reasonable prices. Server was good, but spent too much time giving me needless explanation. For example, I know what Chilean sea bass is, I don’t need a 5 minute explanation of the fish-just tell me how it’s prepared. Also, table setting plates and silverware were fine, but wine glasses were thick, huge and cheap. If you’re going out with the guys and going to spend the night it’s a great restaurant.
This is my favorite restaurant in Charlotte. The homemade pasta is fabulous The service is great. It is in a shopping center which is misleading. Once you enter you feel at home. Reservations are a must.
Loved the food.
This is our favorite Italian restaurant in Charlotte and has been for many years.
Dont mind that it is in a strip mall. This place is legit. I am way to lazy to leave reviews online but felt inclined for how awesome this wood was. I was actually surprised at how cheap it was despite the service and how great the food is.
We were excited to go, but disappointed afterwards. We have eaten here several times, without any issues. This time, the service was not very good, and the food gave us all stomach issues. This was however the first time we visited for lunch. We were very disappointed to of had this experience.
I love this restaurant but the last 2 visits were very disappointing. The service moved at a glacial pace on both visits and most of our party ended up with stomach issues later in the evening on our most recent visit. The quality of the food was not as good as in the past but maybe we caught them on an off day. Maybe staff up a little more and QC the food?
The food and service was just okay. The restaurant was not crowded, however we waited a long time for our meals. Our server friendly and professional, but after we got our meals he didn’t check back when we were ready to close out. I would go again, but it was not a highlighted dining experience.
Ate there the other day for the first time. This restaurant in no way measures up to the really good Italian restaurants in Charlotte. After sitting there for 20 minutes with no one acknowledging our presence in a half empty restaurant, my husband flagged down the hostess to put our drink order in. For every food order or drink order we had to flag "someone down." Their food is hit or miss. Carpaccio was average at best. Gnocchi was good. Filet was not good cut of meat and no matter how you ordered it done...it all came out well done. The people that we flagged down for service were all nice...but no one wanted to take responsibility for our table. Very underwhelming dinner and experience. Sorry...wanted to really like it.
Really just very good Italian food for a reasonable price. The pasta was excellent! Service was friendly and efficient. It is nice to be able to sit outside.
All of us we had been here before but this was the first time together. The tables are narrow; when you have 4 people sitting together, 3 of them are men, they need room. I kept bumping my friend sitting next to me. Once we all arrived, the waiter walked over professional introduced himself, then proceeded to tell us about the specials. He projected his voice as though he was auditioning for Summer Stock. He would turn with his booming voice that anyone and everyone could hear the specials. My friend sitting next to me looked at me and said, "I can't hear!" As for the dish I chose I would not get it again, saffron pasta with crab meat, had a great flavor. I think the crab meat came from one claw, that was shredded very, very fine throughout the dish. My boyfriend wasn't pleased with his choice, baked chicken over potatoes and vegetables. The chicken was flattened, this technique keeps the skin crispy but also dried out the chicken. The 2 other dishes ordered at the table were wonderful The Chilean Sea Bass and Black Linguini with Shrimp. (He knew to ask how many shrimp comes with this dish. The waiter says 4 or 5. He asked for a piece of Salmon to be added...Good Call...the shrimp was the size of quarters.)
The service and food were amazing!
Love the fresh pesto and homemade bread. Interesting cocktails, wide selection of entrees and great tiramisu.
It was my Wife's Birthday & it is our Favorite Italian Restuarant in Charlotte !!
Great Salads, Entrees & Desserts! Wine Selection is always one of the Best!
We had a Great Evening!
Our favorite "treat ourselves" restaurant. I would say favorite anytime restaurant; however, we cannot resist having the specials and going all out here. The food and service is outstanding. I think the osso buco or the veal chop are the best things I have ever eaten. I had the surf and turf last time...just for varieties sake. The filet was wrapped in prosciutto it was fabulous. The scallop appetizer is delicious. For old time Charlotteans, this is in the old Rhineland House. It is still the same. A little noisey, ok for families, casual dress with upscale food. Yes, we love it.
Very good but not great. They present well but two of our groups entrees were subpar.
I reserved a table for 10pm on Valentine's Day. The night before they changed the reservation to 8:45 without any communication from the restaurant other then the email. Not the biggest deal but we had to rush to make it. We arrived 2 mins early and still had to wait 15 mins for our table. (I know Valentine's Day is crazy but changing our res to a time where we still had to wait for a table and should be managed better) Service times were good for it being so busy. The bread with pesto oil dip was amazing to start followed by equally amazing appedtizers (Scallops & Burratta.) The main course was very disappointing... I ordered Lobster Ravioli which was very overcooked and mushy and there was wayyyy to much sauce which added to it being mushy. I ate it all, the flavors were good. My wife's was way worse... The pork chop was the most dry piece of meat she ever had. ( I tasted and fully agreed) She enjoyed the Barolo wine sauce and asparagus. She didn't eat 10% of it and we let the waiter know. They didn't offer to replace it. (The couple sitting next to us had similar issues.) The desert was very good but I was expecting that they would at least give us a free one for the inedible food... nope, we paid full price for everything. We plan on returning on a less crazy day and I'll update this after.
Great Italian food from scratch as always. Highly recommend.
Great food. Slow service!
Wonderful food. It's a bit loud, but that can't be helped. My only disappointment was that it took a long time for the waiter to ask for our drink order.
Our meal was delicious but the restaurant was clearly over booked. Our reservation was for 7:30 and it was 30 minutes before we were seated and another 15 minutes before the waiter acknowledged us. This turned into a three hour meal and we each only ordered entrees. We will go back but not on a weekend when it is so crowded and reservations seem to be a suggestion.
Fabulous A lovely restaurant for a big city experience in a strip center. A must in Charlotte!!
Great food. Nice staff. Definitely will come back.
Great home made pastas, great food overall with outstanding service.
Hidden gem of a restaurant. Recommended by the co concierge at the Hilton in Uptown Charlotte. The menu features fresh pasta (which is a must have) and there were several features. Everything was delicious and the wait staff was attentive without being annoying. Would definitely go there again.
My wife and I have really enjoyed Fiamma every time we have been there. The food is outstanding and the cocktails are delicious. It really reminds us of delicious restaurants in Italy!
The meal was outstanding! The prices are high, but the quality and deliciousness are worth it! The food is some of the best around! That is the good news. We'd go there more often if the place wasn't so outdated and depressing. You pull up to a rundown patio with old seating thrown together on broken cement. The front door is scuffed and dirty....hence the curbside appeal is awful. We sat near the bar, which looks like it's out of a 1970's basement. We faced the old kitchen doors next to a wall with peeling paint! The menu was sticky and dirty. My husband went in to the freezing cold bathroom, the toilet seat was broken and he was slipping and sliding on the wet floor. The Ladies room wasn't much better and the floors were also slippery. We've been coming to Fiamma for 3 years. The old floor was gross, and I was happy they finally replaced that last year, However, It's time for Fiamma to clean up their act and renovate their restaurant, properly.
At first it was odd as they tried to squeeze us into a table where I don’t think two plates could sit. However i asked to be moved and they accommodated us. The food was great. Not sure how I lived in Charlotte the last 5 years and didn’t know if this place.
This Italian restaurant is a hidden jewel. We will be going back soon. The homemade pasta outstanding.
We have been to Fiamma several times and this time was during Restaurant week. The menu was quite extensive giving our group of four varied choices. Several had the scallops as a starter. they were excellent, I had the calamari, that was served with a delightful sauce. It was outstanding.
For our entrees we selected, lamb shank, veal, and shrimp with tagliolini pasta. All meals were very good. I think the shrimp dish was the best.
The desserts were a bit uneven. The cheese cake was excellent not to dry and served with a delicate sauce. The canolli's that two people ordered were just average and very dissappointing.
Overall we enjoyed the evening and felt the service was very good. Especially considering that the restaurant was filled.
Though this restaurant is in a strip shopping center, not a great introduction, it is a what's inside that counts.
