FELICE 83 reflects the soul of Italy, inspired by the sophisticated streets of Florence and the rustic warmth of the Tuscan countryside. This cozy NYC newcomer showcases a relaxed ambience, with subdued lighting, exposed brick walls lined with linear shelves filled with wine, as well as rich, tufted leather seats. Italian wines and flavors from Tuscany will now be served in a modern space, infused with traditional elements, on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Felice 83 features classic Italian dishes from the menu of its sister restaurant, Sant Ambroeus, as well as tasting items and small plates, prepared by Chef Antonio Pamplone.
What Insiders Are Saying
Felice is a mini-chain from the people behind Sant Ambroeus, and the location on 83rd is one of the better date spots in the area.
It was as Sunday night and not packed. The staff was very attentive and allowed us to linger with just the right level of attention without being on top of us. Great value and simple vibe.
We LOVE the food!! It has consistently been deliciousl.
It has become our favorite restaurant.
Great ambiance for special occasions! We went for a Christmas Eve dinner and it was wonderful!
Food was good, wine very expensive by the glass and service was very good.
Been to Felice83 many times. This was the first time I was disappointed. The food was cold, pasta overcooked, and the sauce for ravioli with sage & butter was more like water than anything. Hmmmm... new chef? Ambiance is lovely and waitstaff very accommodating.
I have been to Felice 83 twice and both times have been very nice. I particularly like the atmosphere of the restaurant and they have a nice bar next door as well. The homemade pasta is also a hit.
The waitress was amazing, the food delicious and overall just plain great!
Great cuisine greatest turkey ever
Imprccable staff and service
Great attention to details
Thanksgiving early dinner
Sidewalk table to view the NYC Marathon whilst dining - perfect! Always good food at this restaurant alongside warm welcome and attentive service.
very good ! good was really good and good portion size, service was also very good . very quiet area of the city , perfect for a date or if craving italian food !
Quiet, elegant yet casual for lunch or dinner. Prix fixe lunch is a bargain, and the restaurant is calm and service excellent. We like Felice 83 the best, but it is also close to our apartment, and is our neighborhood favorite. Salads are delicious and so are pastas and you can make the appetizer portion your lunch as the bread they serve with every meal is so delicious. Good place for a glass of wine late afternoon .
We come for brunch, every time we are in the city. My husband LOVES the French toast ! Berries, whipped cream and some chocolate , he's in heaven . Bloody Mary's are good too. As far as the ambiance, it is somewhat tired. Not cheap, but a good neighborhood spot !
Guess it was a quiet night. Hostess greeted us rudely, informing us the kitchen closed at 11 when we arrived at 9:25. The food was just OK.
Great food, lovely ambience - it’s a little darker than I’d like, but perfect for date night or romantic hideout. Such a wonderful warm place with excellent food.
Nice neighborhood restaurant. Food is good. Service was adequate. Waiter said that the whole fish was deboned. It was not. When brought to the matre d’s attention he said he would look into it and never came back and no one followed up. That was disappointing.
Incredible food and wine list, fantastic service, such warm & romantic atmosphere!
Great italian food, try bolognesa and the soup had much black pepper, we will go back
The waiter was inattentive, we had to ask for a drink, we had to have someone find her when we were ready to order. My pasta was undercooked and there was too much truffle oil which overpowered the dish. My friends chicken Milanese was dry and bland. Overall, a very disappointing experience
Great food, atmosphere was perfect for date night.
BRING A BIG FLASHLIGHT. Also, bring earplugs. It is dark. It is loud. We were there at 7:00 pm and there was a loud baby, crying its heart out, and the parents did nothing to quiet the poor babe. Then, I had to use my phone to read anything. It was dark, the way your bedroom is dark---for sleeping, not dining.
It wasn't romantic...it was black dark. I had to use my phone light to get to the restroom.
The food turned out to be delicious. We shared an eggplant involtini and it was delicious. My branzino was perfect and my friend's chicken was also delicious.
But I cannot return to this restaurant, because it was too physically uncomfortable. Maybe I will go there for lunch, some time...but never again for dinner.
Food was good. Service was a little slow, so plan on going there only if you have ample time.
I liked Felice very much
A bit noisy for me and I should’ve sat outside. Service was outstanding food excellent good value
Great food. Good service . Nice quiet lunch. Neat and clean restaurant and bathroom
I had indicated that it was our anniversary. When we were greeted by the hostess she acknowledged our anniversary and was extremely nice sharing her own parents having been married 36 years as we were celebrating 37 years. We got a booth which is what I requested. At the end of the meal they brought out a tart with a candle and the plate said Happy Anniversary. It was so sweet. I have to say the waiter was also great. I'm afraid I in don't know their names but is was 6PM on September 13. My wife and I have dined at Felice a number of times and it never disappoints, but tonight was extraordinary. My wife and I got another sweet send off from the hostess as we left. We are still talking about the great experience. Thank you!
Recommended by someone who lives in NYC and it was an excellent recommendation. Overall I thought the food was pretty good. I would definitely go back again!
I ended up eating twice at Felice in just four days. The food is terrific, the portions nicely sized, and the wait staff excellent. Highly recommend for very good Italian dining on the UES.
While the food was excellent, the service was horrendous! Sister was totally inattentive and good came out piecemeal making those who go entrees first eat cold food. Shame on Felice especially when they added a mandatory service charge. Noise level made it impossible to have a conversation. Only reason it gets 2 stars is because the food was actually good.
This place is consistently good. Simple Italian and better than most in the hood for both food and decor. Only complaint was that it was so dark I couldn’t see the menu.
Wonderful cheese board, mussel app was honestly the best I have ever had, all the food was great!
The main course- paperdelle with Italian sausage and quinoa with tiger shrimp - was very good. Gaspacho - was not good. Homemade Ice scream - was not good. Besides, they brought ice cream in a paper cup. There were supposed to be 2 scoops in a tiny cup. Paper cup in a restaurant? Rose wine was good. They did take off the items my wife did not like off the bill, though. Service - is good. But, the hostess dropped the menu on the floor in from of us and still put it on the table right in front of us. Needless to say, we removed that menu of the table.
Will give them one more try - now we know what not to order.
Delicious food with a great wine pairing menu and suggestions!
Reservation accepted without question. As usual great food, and wide selection of wines for which they are known.
First time at the location on east 83rd. I’ve eaten at the east 63rd location as well. Food is good. Service is attentive. People are friendly.
One thing about the east 83rd restaurant, the seating is awkward, somewhat uncomfortable.
Restaurant was quite pleasant. Food was superior. Service was excellent. Will
go back again.
Service seemed off...
The only blemish was our server might have taken more interest in suggesting a bottle of wine instead of serving 4 glasses.
I have eaten at the bar a couple of times and tonight we opted for outdoor seating. The food was excellent and the service a bit slow. We waited for lemon and water for quite a bit. The waitress was very nice and upon asking her suggestion recommended one dish over another. It was a great meal and sitting outside was great. They did not rush us out at all and we were able to sit and catch up. The crostini appetizers are really good and could be a full meal paired with a glass of wine. The asparagus appetizer was great. My friend's tuna was very salty and my cacio e pepe pasta was delicious. Overall, a great hidden gem on the East Side-just be aware it is not an inexpensive dinner.
Lovely restaurant with terrific food.
Wonderful food and a pleasant atmosphere make this a place to which we'll return again and again. Quiet enough for good talk.
