About Felice 83
[NOTE: We welcome walk-in customers! At this time, we are only accepting reservations for larger parties, but have many small tables open for our walk-in customers.]
FELICE 83 reflects the soul of Italy, inspired by the sophisticated streets of Florence and the rustic warmth of the Tuscan countryside. This cozy NYC newcomer showcases a relaxed ambience, with subdued lighting, exposed brick walls lined with linear shelves filled with wine, as well as rich, tufted leather seats. Italian wines and flavors from Tuscany will now be served in a modern space, infused with traditional elements, on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Felice 83 features classic Italian dishes from the menu of its sister restaurant, Sant Ambroeus, as well as tasting items and small plates, prepared by Chef Antonio Pamplone.

Felice 83 Ratings and Reviews
Lunch was a very pleasant affair. The prix fixe lunch had a wonderful selection of items.
The salad appetizer my guest ordered was very much enjoyed. I had the mini arancini
which were absolutely delicious. My guest's pasta with pepper and olive oil was
devoured. However, my arrabbiata was underseasoned and too heavily sauced.
The chocolate cakes with ice cream were luscious. I will not hesitate to return to
The food is good, the service is great.
Plus, we went back the next day to look for someone's glasses. The couldn't find them, but a few minutes later we were half way down the block, and the manager came running down the block with the glasses. They really went out of the way to help.
We discovered this restaurant thanks to "Restaurant Week". The food was excellent and the wine pairings with the Restaurant Week menu were fantastic. Very happy with the service as well. I have to give kudos to the waitress who was serving the table next to us. One of the ladies had A LOT of questions about every option and seemingly, a lot of dietary restrictions. She even needed several minutes of consultation with the ever-patient server to choose her flavour of gelato. The server was patient and polite throughout and never lost her smile. While I did find the prices a little on the high side, I would go back.
So, we tried Felice 83 during Restaurant Week. Their RW menu had a nice selection. I had the veal meatballs as an appetizer and it was out of this world! I would have made a meal out of that and a small plate of pasta! For dinner I had wide pasta with a sausage meat with porcini mushrooms. Again, wonderful! Desert was gelato - they had several flavors. I had lemon and strawberry - a great choice. All in all, I recommend Felice 83!
I am always impressed by Felice. Their summer menu is great even for hot days. I had a great night out with my father after an afternoon at the ballet. The meal was done just right, the wine as great. The host is very pleasant always greeting me with a smile. We go back regularly and will continue to do so!
Although I have had wonderful meals and great service at Felice 83 many times in the past ( we live very close and go quite often) it was frankly disappointing this time. I was there with my daughter my mom ( who is visiting from Europe) to celebrate Mother's Day. I had a confirmed reservation. After waiting for 20 Minutes for our table we were seated at a makeshift table that was clearly in the way of all the waiters. It was a very unpleasant meal. Frankly I should have left but I have limited mobility ( I am using a knee scooter )and it would have been difficult to go anywhere.
I might give it another try but not any time soon. A shame since the food is quite good.
We had a great time. The food and service were excellent. One of our party asked for a vegetarian pasta dish (no meat) and the chef sent out a delicious plate of spaghetti with tomato sauce, garlic and vegetables. And the fish that others had was very fresh and deliciously prepared. We can't wait to come back again.
This is our third time dining at Felice 83. The first time was fine. The second, they forgot our entrees and we waited 45 minutes for them. This time they overcooked the special and it came well done instead of medium rare. I sent it back and waited and after ten minutes canceled the order. My partner was finished with his meal already and his plate had been taken away. They did offer me a free dessert but we left. The service is fine but the food is so-so and the kitchen should have expedited my order.
sometimes ambiance is more important than food,, but this place almost rocks both categories. service was impeccable, the wait staff is friendly & accommodating, the timing of the food was excellent. Drinks and a fabulous rustic bread basket came right away, appetizers were served in a timely manner and entrees were also served after the right wait period. I ordered my pasta al dente and the chef nailed it ! The main wrinkle of the restaurant is the "background" music. It's too loud and it is more appropriate for soul cycle than a cozy Italian bistro.
I almost felt like getting up to exercise rather than dine graciously. LOL
Loved the food and wine list. Lots of interesting choices. Also a few vegetarian options. (I'm not a vegetarian, but my dinner companion was and she seemed happy.) Very friendly staff.
My one quibble was that it was a Sunday night at around 7ish, and the sound system occasionally played lounge-y music with a strong beat, the sort of music you would expect at a club in the Meatpacking district on Saturday night. Seemed inappropriate for a casual, neighborhood Sunday dinner on the Upper East Side.
Why do restaurants do this? I understand complete silence can feel sad, but there are a lot of quieter options.
Made a reservation via Open Table. Restaurant called minutes after to explain that they had a private party and could not accommodate us at the reserved time, but did offer some reasonable alternatives. When we arrived our table was ready and waiting. The staff from the host to the servers were warm and welcoming. The meal was excellent. We were a party of 4 and ordered for separate dishes. All 4 were excellent the Beef Stew over Polenta. lasagna, spaghetti and veal.
Highly recommend for a night out with family, friends or date.
We went for dinner on a Monday night. The staff was friendly, and even gave a great recommendation for wine. The room is lovely and quiet, perfect for your conversations on date night. The food was excellent, especially the veal meatballs in a great tomato sauce. It was a great dinner in a very cozy space. We will go back and tell our friends!
