Felice 15 Gold Street Ratings and Reviews
All the Felices are very good. I have been coming to them since they opened. I go to the ones on the upper east side, including Saint Ambrosia. This one has become the most well-run. I think it is the hostess who used to work behind the bar. The guy who replaced her behind the bar is just as good. He should become a manager. The food is consistent( I love the salads and the pastas), the wines are really good, and it's just an easy place to relax!
Food was generally excellent - mussels, then branzino. Great dessert (chocolate mousse cake). Ravioli a little too salty.
Service was good - professional, but restrained.
Only issue - its a small one - was the odor of the oil filled table lamps; Because each table had one, the odor was noticeable upon entering the restaurant; but seated by the window, with ours snuffed out, it did not interfere with the enjoyment of the food.
Felice is one of my favorite go-to restaurants in the Financial District. The menu has nice variety, and although I am partial to their linguine di mare, there are lots of great options for meat, seafood and poultry lovers as well as some vegetarian plates. I like the warmth of the ambiance and the neighborhood feeling of this place. It draws a nice mix of locals and upscale tourists, many of whom are staying at the adjoining Gild Hall. Apparently the menu was brand new on the night I dined there, so there were no specials. I didn't know this, and overheard my server telling another party about the new menu. I look forward to trying some of the other dishes on my next visit.
One of the most solid Italians in NY. Nothing fancy but absolutely authentic, I was very impressed by their pasta (both the one with sausage and the linguine with seafood are to die for), their arancini are as good as you can get them out of Sicily although of course they aren't like the Sicilian ones, fettunta is spot on and also the one with fegatini is excellent. Chefs and ingredients are all Italians and you taste it, no questions. Wine list could be better but there are decent options (I'm from Franciacorta so the fact they have a reasonably priced Bellavista in their menu is a big plus). Definitely a neighborhood gem.
I went to have a birthday dinner, and from start to finish, everything was amazing. I brought my own cake which they refrigerated and brought out for me with candles and all. The portions were just right, and prices are what you'd expect from that neighborhood. The manager and servers were incredibly kind and took very good care of the group, even gave me free cookies because it was my birthday. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone whether it be a date, a get together, or a business meal.
I spend a lot of my lunches here as it is my go to for business lunches. The service is fantastic and the wait stuff and managers are always so professional. The food is really fantastic. There are great options: paninis, pasta, salads and general entrees. I love the set up as it has a number of smaller rooms so it feels cozy and it's never too noisy. It's a gem and I love going there for business lunches.
I had dinner here with 3 of my work colleagues. It was a wonderful experience all the way around. The food was delicious and plentiful. The service was elegant, attentive, and not intrusive. The place is really pretty. The wine list was diverse, although I would've liked to see more options on the lower-priced end. And, it's close to my office, which means it will be easy for me to return!
Chose this restaurant for its extensive restaurant week menu options. So many unique dishes that it was hard to choose. Everything was delicious. We especially enjoyed the wine pairings that were offered for each course. In addition, the staff was pleasant, polite and attentive. Would definitely recommend to friends.
We came for NYC Restaurant Week because of the excellent reviews on Opentable and Yelp, and we were definitely impressed!
Here are the details:
The front desk staff were very welcoming . This small, comfortable restaurant was lively and noisy at lunch , but we got adjusted to the noise level after while.
Our waiter, Daniel, was sweet and attentive throughout our meal. We did not have to ask for the restaurant week menu, as we had at other places. This was a wonderfully generous menu with many choices of dishes.
Everything we ordered was superbly delicious! We had the Caprese (buffalo mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes), and the Polpettine (veal meatballs) as appetizers. The portions were so generous, that we were already full by the time our entrees came!
Our entrees were the linguine cacao e pepe, and the Salmone in a stew of roasted cherry tomatoes, potatoes, green olives, etc. So scrumptious!!
For dessert, we had the amazing ricotta lemon cheesecake and the lemon sorbet.
We are looking forward to returning often because this is a very reasonably priced restaurant, unlike so many of the $$$$ places we can only afford during Restaurant Week.
The highlights were the appetizers and main course. Desert, a lemon ricotta cheesecake, while decent enough did not seem like it was made on premise. Came here for Restaurant Week and found the place quiet, wait staff attentive, and food above average. The real reason I chose it was that for Restaurant Week they had a fairly expansive menu to choose from. Often restaurants don't post their menus at all or limit you to one of three appetizers or main courses. Felice 15 is located in the lobby of a luxury hotel and thus have to keep standards up for guests and non-guests alike.
We very much enjoyed our business lunch at Felice. First, it was quiet enough to talk business, a rarity in fine restaurants in NYC. The authentic (mostly Northern) Italian cuisine was beautifully presented, and the service top-notch. I loved my Salad Mista with ample mozzarella, avocado, ripe cherry tomatoes, and fresh greens. The salmon with potatoes and tomatoes was to die for. My companion also praised the beet salad and (I think) a chicken wrap of sorts. We also enjoyed the lemon cheesecake dessert. At $29 prix fix for a delightful three course meal, we felt we had a real bargain. I also enjoyed a glass of crisp Felice rosé.
The food was good, but not great. We had the veal meatball appetizer which was delicious, but the rest was decidedly meh. The ambiance and service were outstanding. Oh, and the Negroni Americano was awesome! So maybe, just stop in for a cocktail and some appetizers!
The food was amazing. Alessandro, our waiter, essentially crafted our meal because we asked for his recommendations. We had a modified linguine dish with olive oil and garlic alongside the special, a swordfish on top of delicious eggplant. We also had the chocolate mousse dessert and it was wonderful, it's definitely a special occasion sort of place but worth every penny.
We are new to staying in the Financial District and were looking for somewhere close to our hotel. The ratings and menu at Felice seemed great so we made a reservation and made our way to the restaurant. Olthe service was wonderful with a such an attentive server. The food was delicious as well as our drinks. Definitely would make our way back to Felice if we are in the area in the future.
What a wonderful find! The food was scrumptious and the service was awesome. We had no idea whether the Yelp rating was a good one to go by, and frankly, it exceeded our expectations. this is a great restaurant for just about any occasion, especially if you like Italian cuisine!
Another great meal at Felice. The food is really outstanding and the service is first rate. The staff go above and beyond to ensure a great experience every time. We've taken several friends here for a really authentic Italian dining experience and an enjoyable evening.
