Federal Taphouse and Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
We have visited the taphouse several times and the service and food are consistently very good. The menu had changed a bit since our last visit, but we found a couple of new items to try and enjoyed everything very much. A favorite was the mozzarella sticks. We're not sure what the secret ingredients are, but they were very good! The staff is very good about handling food allergies. Two of us had burgers and really enjoyed them and the chicken wings were excellent. Good beer choices and fun atmosphere. Lively but not so loud that we couldn't enjoy our conversation. Our waitress was terrific and the busboy was exceptional in going above and beyond to make sure that we had what we needed and was quick to help us when we spilled some water. It was a small but kind gesture and he smiled and chatted as he changed the paper on the table.
We ended up at Federal Taphouse after not being able to get a table at another restaurant, and I'm glad it worked out that way. Our waitress was great, the bottomless mimosas were delicious and I especially loved the smokey bacon on the side of my french toast.
Our waitress was super friendly, made us feel very welcome and comfortable! Even though we are from out of state, she even said I looked familiar! Just had that great neighborhood feel to it. The food was FANTASTIC. We had the buffalo chicken dip as an appetizer. I had the carne asada tacos and my husband had the bbq pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich. So incredibly good, everything was very fresh, french fries were phenomenal! I had a "tiny tini" of the Anne Bonnie martini, it was delicious and the perfect size for a late afternoon/early evening meal. Pretty quick walk from the Hilton. Would certainly recommend and hope to visit again ourselves!
Great food and atmosphere! Staff are friendly and service was pretty good. The blueberry lemonade drink was refreshing and delicious! The potstickers were better than the fried pickles for appetizers. My friend enjoyed the Tuesday taco special and the buffalo chicken wrap was perfect! Beignets for dessert were the perfect end to a wonderful meal!
We celebrated my husbands birthday with a large party. The restaurant was very accommodating and our server was fabulous! Everyone enjoyed their meals- even the picky eaters. The cocktails were also delicious. We could not have asked for a better experience with for a large group.
This was our 2nd time to the Federal Hill Tap House for the Sunday Brunch. Food was great, portions good size but not huge. Server was friendly and quick to refresh our unlimited mimosas! Did notice that the menu had changed (we had just been there a week or 2 before). Prices all went up slightly and I was disappointed that we no longer could get the tacos (they were 2 for 5 and so good!) as an appetizer. They are now $14 and only served as a meal with fries. (My husband did get a chicken and waffle fries appetizer for the table which was good too). Will be back again.
Went here to try their Sunday Morning brunch. Bottomless Mimosas were great! The food was very good and service was very attentive. Will absolutely go back again for brunch or maybe try one of their other night promotions like taco night or burgers and bingo.
We were there with 10 people with a reservation. We did have to wait approx 10 minutes before they sat us. Unfortunately we were seated right where the door opened so every time someone came in or out we got a very cold breeze. We ordered apps, the slab of bacon with pumpkin puree was fabulous, buffalo chicken very good, and the nachos were loaded however a bit cold. Dinner was eclectic with our group and everything was fabulous. Drinks were plentiful and our waitress was very attentive. Will go again and try their Sunday Brunch.
Food was good, requested a high top table, but was put in the back corner of the restaurant. The person waiting on the table next to ours either kicked or hit my chair every time she walked by to get to that table. After the third time it was quiet annoying and never one apologized. It is a small place and was loud for an early Saturday night. Not sure we would go back.
Our 2nd visit, and this time we brought friends for dinner before a show at PPAC. It was St. Patty's Day so they had live music and great specials. Knock out poutine - we ate every last speck of it and considered ordering another. Yes, it was THAT good! Dinner was delicious too - I had one of the specials - a corned beef rueben, which had great flavor. We will be back!
