Best Live Music Restaurants in North Bergen

Servers at the restaurant were great. So were the hostesses inside. Food and tea were delicious as always. The gal checking reservations at the entrance to the hotel to admit guests inside could use a refresher in customer service. How about welcome guests warmly with a smile? Say hello or good morning? Make eye contact? Literally anything other than the cold front she put on. Maybe she hates her job? For paying $500+ for tea time lunch you shouldn’t act like we’re inconveniencing you. She also didn’t offer the lift for my stroller and just watched us struggle carrying it up the stairs and no one grabbed the door to help. They stand on the stairs looking down on people trying to come inside like they’re better than everyone else. That part is odd.

I have been to Chez Josephine many times. It is my favorite restaurant, not only because of the food but because of the great tribute to Josephine Baker an African-American pioneer entertainer in many ways. There is beautiful art work, lithographs and such all throughout the the restaurant. The bathroom is always very clean and there are imprints of Josephine on the thick napkins. Very nice touch. The kitchen is always clean with an open door. I always go in and Thank the Chef.

This is the second time I've visited New York City at holiday time in recent years and have made an effort to have afternoon tea at the Whitby. It's a classy relaxed place with a special touch at holiday time

Great ambiance suitable for conversation with an eclectic vibe and soothing music. Food was authentic and delicious.

We were there on a slow Sunday night. Ordered cocktails and a meal. Our waiter Pedro was great! Baklava was ok…would have excpected better but overall good meal.
