Best Restaurants that are Worth The Drive in Lake Zurich

We've dined here many times. A potential rainstorm (that did not occur) forced us inside on 30 June 2025. The food was excellent at always, but the service was so slow as to be measured in geologic time. It seemed our server was assigned too many tables and compounding the already-increasing wait time was a kitchen behind schedule. We waited noticeably for everything after the guac at tableside. Drinks took an abnormally long time. Dinner was exceptionally slow in coming and the flan at the end was even more tardy. I am hopeful this was an abberation to the usual timely service at Mago where things typically run like clockwork. This meal took over two hours for nothing exceptional and our party was only five adults. Food was good. However, were this kind of slow service repeated, it would be off-putting enough to put Mago on our "B" list of dining.

Love coming here for an occasional date with my other half. Always come back for the lamb. Was a little disappointed due to never being offered lamb chops and did not see any staff with them until we were already eating dessert.

Fun place, great people! The staff always makes all the difference in every restaurant. The big open space with all the windows open on a beautiful day made for a fun dinner. We loved all the options, and our server walked us through all the options. I loved the Greek wine choices, and my son loved the cocktails.

Wonderful experience! The garlic rolls were awesome and the chicken and pasta was phenomenal :)

Our whole family of 8 has been eating here for several years. We love the food and service. The ambiance is quiet and tables are well spaced.
