Best Historic Restaurants in Esher

Big improvements in standards and service at 1907 since our visits some years back. The vegan dishes are inspired, the bbq meats are fair quality and it is all all very well. presented. Superb service throughout on both recent visits. Easy parking right outside the door.. Only real criticism are the prices which are rather on the high side.

As always the welcome is warm and friendly, and the service is attentive -and with a smile. The upstairs terrace with its view into the trees is a favourite summer destination. No sign of the Tempura prawns on the menu, but we all enjoyed the asparagus with its slightly spicy sauce, and the John Dory was as good as you will find. The temptation posed by the dessert offering was too strong to resist- and we were not disappointed.

We had a fantastic dinner at Efes last night, with another family, and the experience was well worth it. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive—despite being busy, they made sure we had everything we needed. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, exceeding expectations in both taste and presentation. While the atmosphere was lively and at times a bit loud, it only added to the vibrant energy of the place. Prices lean toward the higher side, but the excellent service and overall experience more than make up for it. Efes delivered a great night of delicious food and top-notch hospitality
