Best Historic Restaurants in Lafayette

Invited friends for my retirement dinner. Have been here several times before. it’s quite noisy so conversational are difficult. Appetizers were good (beet dish and shrimp cocktail). 3 of us had steak, my ribeye had many fat veins but tasted good. pick a Leviathan blend would be that was good too. Service was excellent.

My fiancee and I had our date night in Berkeley change of scenery and venue which was the Limewood Bar & Restaurant. We enjoyed the drive up the winding road to get to the restaurant where the Valet took care of us as soon as we stopped in front of the Claremont Hotel. Our host escorted us to our seats promptly allowing us to be seated to see the sunset 🌅 and the view of the city. The appetizers we began with was the truffle steak frites and Spring Salad with Salmon, this was delicious. The steak and lamb loin was well done, the way we like it, but very soft and succulent, so amazing! Along with our sides we had the honey roasted corn and potatoes they truly satisfied the appetite. The finale was our butter cake with ice cream which made my toes curl this dessert 🍮 touched our souls. We truly enjoyed dining at your fine establishment along with your amazing staff. Thank you!

A group of six of us did the Dinner Party menu and it was phenomenal. The drink menu was also a huge plus as every drink we had was great!

It was completely wonderful . The duck is delicious, the snails are delicious. The crème brûlé is really good, tasty and cold , we asked for some caramel on top , the waitress is really nice about it. Also the way the waitress organized the utensils look really elegant . Definitely our favorite restaurant in the entire Berkeley and Oakland area . We would come back again for our anniversary dinner next year .
