We make British food with a classic or modern slant. We source our ingredients from the local fields, woodlands and waters. Everything is cooked on the premises, including the sourdough bread and the icecreams.The Good Food Guide (2023) says: "A fittingly quaint old building, complete with original features, given a suave modern twist via grey panelling and contemporary furniture.     Delicious, imaginative food, beautifully prepared and presented. Charming and helpful service, pleasant ambience - and good choice of music! Particularly delighted with the homemade bread and Marmite butter (which really works) and the little amuse-bouche of salt cod fishcake and Romeso sauce. My husband had the lamb 3 ways and we both agreed this was the best dish - but everything was wonderful.

    Steak to share was a wonderful experience and found no fault in the side dishes which were also plenty to share for two. Service was spot on as well as the wine available with a wonderful range of English wines. One of the finer restaurants in Rye…. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
