Situated on the High Street of Eton, close to the River Thames and between the historic buildings of Eton College and Windsor Castle, Gilbey's is open from 12 noon for lunch and 6pm for dinner every day.Originally an old butcher's shop, we created one of the first wine bars outside London in 1975 - The Eton Wine Bar. After 25 years of success, we changed the name in 2000 to Gilbey's, having recognised that our food had outgrown the original wine bar concept. Originally built in 1518, the building was the very first Guildhall in Windsor which was the meeting place for the Trinity Guild (the town traders) which since the 13th Century has provided the governing body for the town until it was turned into an inn & public house in 1689. There has been a pub on this site for almost 500 years and is one of the oldest establishments in the town, only a few of which are still standing.Located on Market Street, The Prince Harry is only 50 metres from Windsor Castle. We are proud of our part in Windsor history and continue to provide a traditional pub environment amongst the cobbles of the old town next to the historic Guildhall.Our menu includes traditional British favourites and all food is freshly cooked on-site, served from 12pm, to 5pm.We serve a fine Sunday roast until 6pm and we advise booking a table so that you can enjoy our traditional hospitality.     We were a party of 9 celebrating a significant birthday in the restaurant, as a quiet Monday lunchtime it felt like we were private dining! The acoustics in the room were perfect, as we are large party everyone could hear each other speak! All the staff from the bar when we arrived to the restaurant were welcoming, professional, efficient & friendly. The food was delicious & enjoyed by all. A very happy birthday celebration

    This has to be one of best hotel experiences we’ve had in many years. The spa was fantastic. The 1215 restaurant was 10/10 but what made it for us was the staff throughout the whole hotel. We felt so welcome and looked after. Our only negative was the general prices of the breakfast and lunch (Greens), which were massively overpriced and need the be looked into, as it was too much for what we had. Apart from that, a lovely experience!

    A pleasant pub tucked away down Market Street. Food was mainly fine, but the veggie burger was not the best my wife had tried. A lovely pint of Windsor & Eton - Koh-in-noor. Staff were welcoming and service good. Food served in good time too.
