In June 1896, the trolley system that linked St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, Aurora, and Elgin, IL began to offer service to local citizens. Overhead wires that ran along the track supplied the power to the single, open-air cars.The trolley came from South Elgin and traveled along the east side of the river, through the St. Charles Country Club and along Route 25. From Main Street, it went west, crossed over the bridge, and turned south on 3rd Street to go to Geneva.It was at this last turn that conductors would stop the trolley and allow passengers to disembark for a quick drink to warm up during the winter months. Welcome back to Whiskey Bend.

    Love the herb gardens and greenery around the dining area. Our family loves this place, and the farm-to-table concept is perfect. Each time it was a great experience. Their risotto, Brussels sprouts, smashed potatoes, and house-made ravioli... these are great choices for a vegetarian like me!

    We absolutely adore this restaurant. We took my mom here last year for her birthday and decided to go there for Father’s Day this year. The service is great, but the food is the true star. Everything from the scotch egg to the pea soup to the wonderful options for Sunday roast dinner and the icing on the cake with dessert. Our favorite is the strawberry meringue. It is decadent and delicious. Do not miss this amazing restaurant… It is at the top of our list and we can’t wait to go again.

    We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and experienced a very attentive wait staff and delicious dinners. I had a delightful tajin dusted Ahi Tuna and my husband enjoyed a filet mignon that was cooked to perfection. This is a beautiful restaurant that pays close attention to every detail. We were extremely pleased and will definitely dine there again.
