Nice return to Updown on what might have been a quiet night. Good number of diners in but staff were struggling to keep up. The team did excellently and the food was lovely. The anchovie toast was desperately salty but I guess that's what I signed up for.

Duke William you never fail to impress. Lovely lunchtime meal for my daughters birthday. Food and atmosphere were superb. A little noisy as in the bar area and lots of people with dogs coming in for just drinks so probably would have preferred to sit further away from the bar but still had a wonderful time. Sadly didn't get our waiters name but he was excellent and very attentive. A lovely way to end her birthday.

Fab service, couldn't do enough for us. Lovely food.

We booked for a family of four and had the family roast dinner which was excellent value. The meat was well cooked and the veg, potato and Yorkshire Puddings were top drawer. It was very busy so service a little slow but this wasn’t a problem for us. All the staff were very courteous and attentive; we will definitely be back

Great food yet again - lovely family meal . The only issue was having to prompt staff a couple of times to come over but they were very gracious and we did not feel uncomfortable. We will definitely come back as every time we have been the food and drink - including cocktails has been exemplary. The decor gives a relaxing and interesting environment to enjoy yourself amongst a very happy group of diners! Thank you
