The Punchbowl is a 17th century gastro pub, located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and the South Essex Salt marshes. Really great food. The thali was not on the menu, but luckily available. Great choice of three spicy and tasty vegetarian dishes, naan, papadum and rice with vegetables and pickles. The service was friendly, personal and fast. Our compliments to the staff!

Visited for a family breakfast, excellent friendly and efficient service. We had a lovely sunny day so enjoyed the outside seating area. Food was delicious, we look forward to returning soon.

Tracked down this lovely little restaurant for brunch. Nice, quiet location and we sat outside in the shade on a hot day. Brilliant food and great cocktails. Staff were very friendly. Worth the short walk to get away from the touristy crowds. Highly recommended.
