Wow, what a beautiful meal we had, I opted for the 3 course ( you have to purchase a roast to take advance) £27 for a 3 course meal. What a great deal. The food was amazing. Starter I had potted cromer crab with asparagus ice cream ( what a great flavour) with soda bread and crispy batter saphire.Then the lamb roast. Wow, the flavours. And lemon meringue cheese cake for dessert. My other half had the onglet steak. Fantastic. Great food, lovely atmosphere. Highly underrated and wasn't busy at all. Get there, support them, and enjoy. I've been to 1 or 2 nice restaurant establishments over the last couple of years. Some pretty pricey for what you get and the food in other places from today's standards at The Chequers have been very mediocre. Many thanks to the talented chef

Great food and excellent service in this lovely pub in a fantastic location.

Went for my birthday meal, food was excellent came out hot, and delicious, had starter halloumi fries and mango chutney, flavours blended excellently and halloumi was cooked to perfection, then had the house burger, very juicy was only dissapointed that my bun was extremely soggy, but im happy nonetheless, the flavour was worth it, i then had the cheesecake of the day, marks for presentation, and the taste was even more gorgeous, fresh fruit aswell, my mum came with us and was able to turn her meal into keto friendly, and she still loved it, her steak was tender and cooked to perfection, tried a bit, when it came to drinks was very happy although wish our jack daniels and cokes were bigger, but the strength was perfect. And my partners onion rings were perfect, the setting itself was beautiful and accepting (as i am in a same sex relationship, sometimes rural pubs can be filled with rather ignorant people) but nobody batted an eyelid which was rather comforting, seating was also very accommodating and toilet facilities were spotless, definitely worth coming to visit (furry friends welcome too)

Food amazing? I wanted mussels but they said they have ran out, so had the specials with was crab salad and oh my amazing and staff brilliant
