We really enjoy Jersey Girl. Excellent food, reasonable prices, reasonably quiet and not packed in like sardines. It is the only Beach Haven restaurant I patronize during "the season".

From the moment you walk in, you’re met with a lively, welcoming atmosphere that captures the laid-back charm of Long Beach Island. Whether you’re a local or just visiting for the summer, the Black Whale strikes the perfect balance between casual comfort and refined seafood dining. It’s the kind of spot where you can unwind with great company and enjoy a truly memorable meal. One of the true highlights of our visit was the Santa Cruz pasta dish. Bursting with flavor, the pasta is perfectly al dente and generously loaded with shrimp, scallops, and clams, all coated in a light yet savory tomato cream sauce. It’s rich without being heavy, and every bite delivers the kind of freshness you hope for when ordering seafood. It’s a standout item on the menu and one we’d absolutely order again. Equally impressive was the grilled salmon entrée. The fish was cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside with a moist, flaky interior—and served with thoughtfully prepared sides that complemented the flavors beautifully. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in both their ingredients and execution, and it shows in the quality and consistency of the food. Beyond the meal, what truly made our experience exceptional was the service. Our waitress, Jackie, was friendly, professional, and very attentive. She struck the perfect balance between being present and giving us space to enjoy our meal. Overall, Black Whale continues to live up to its strong reputation. With its vibrant atmosphere, delicious food, and top-notch service, it’s a dining experience we won’t soon forget. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!!!
