The Chequers Inn is a 14th century building with as much charm as it has history. Owned by Jonathan & Joanne Tindall since 2002, this cosy inn is also a hotel, serving as a brilliant base for exploring the Peak District, whether it be a visit to Chatsworth House or a walk along Froggatt Edge. Boasting an AA Rosette, the food at The Chequers ranges from the classic fish and chips and burgers to the seasonally-changing dishes such as lamb rump, seabass and vegetable pithivier. The proper steak and ale pie, however, is the fan favourite, and is even available to take home! Throughout the summer, the large woodland garden is the perfect place for a refreshing drink or a bite to eat, whereas in the winter, the two log fires make the pub warming and comfortable, making The Chequers Inn the perfect place to visit any time of year.

    Sat outside on a summers nights and had the excellent Dinner club menu at £20.50 for two courses or £25.50 for three. Food was excellent quality and portions well sized plus they had an offer on the wine which was great value. Overall a great evening.

    AS usual we were met by a pleasant member of staff ,seated quickly in a comfortable place, our every needs were catered for , ordering , service ,quality of food was excellent. all in very lovely place, and finally the cost was very reasonable for what we had received.

    Lovely lunch. It's a very welcoming place to eat and the quality of the food is excellent. From the very start when you're seated by Dawn, the staff are pleasant and helpful. There was a problem with my order but it was quickly resolved.
