- JJenniferVIPAtlanta •96 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoCooks & Soldiers is at the top of my list for an evening out in Atlanta. I know we're always going to have a friendly welcome, excellent service, good wine choices and a mix of our favorite dishes and new specials. Our latest visit was no exception. We were greeted by several at the host stand. When we were seated, someone quickly checked our water preference. Then Anna, a server who had already helped us through several wonderful evenings, showed up with some cava to help us get started. We had a hard time narrowing things down but finally chose the pan de setas, our perennial favorite of earthy mushrooms on bread with a light spread of goat cheese creme fraiche, as well as the pulpo a la gallega because we hadn't had it for a while, vieiras (scallops) - they are always presented with some interesting vegetables, and the sunchokes. Anna coursed it out nicely so we weren't too rushed, and we ordered more cava to round out the meal. Had we had more people or bigger appetites we probably would have tried the bikini, a next-level grilled cheese with Iberian ham, or txistorra envuelta, a fun presentation of the Basque sausage, or txangurro, the classic crab dish. As it was, we had to take a box with us when we left. Everything was wonderful. I imagine the pan de setas was the favorite, but we loved the variety of the small plates. Thanks to everyone at C&S and especially Anna.More infoCooks & SoldiersPrice: Moderate• Basque• West Midtown•4.8
