Best Romantic Restaurants in South Bound Brook

We had a terrific meal at Martinsville Tavern last night. We split the Signature Calamari with chopped tomatoes, scallions and a sweet and sour sauce. It was cooked perfectly and large enough for 2 people. We also had the porcini fettuccini funghi and both the crusted bank cod and fire roasted branzino - all were excellent. Our waiter was also great - an all around perfect dinner experience.

Ordered Surf and Turf, Butternut Squash soup, Wolfgang Salad,Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Chilean Sea Bass (Sautéed), side dish of grilled asparagus and Irish Coffee for dessert. Plenty of food for both of us. Lots of doggie bags for dinner. Everything was delicious. Cooked to perfection. Waitstaff were all very attentive. Loved seeing families together on this special day.

First time there, had their Thanksgiving Buffet. Pleasantly surprised at the variety and quality of the food. The roast beef was cooked just right, turkey was juicy and plenty of sides and desserts. We will go back.

If you haven’t tried the meatballs appetizer please do. They are tender and flavorful and served with naan bread. I tried the trout entree for the first time and it was delicious. My wife had the Entree Salad with Tenderloin. That never disappoints! I noticed that the prices haven’t increased like some other restaurants which makes it a good value.

The food was good. We had a party of 4. In all we had 5 meals. We wanted to have the homemade gnocchi to share as an appetizer, but they ended up not having it. We ended up sharing the lobster ravioli, which was good. For our entrees we had the seafood risotto, which was excellent, the cod special (which was good but very small piece of fish), chicken dish and the yellowfin tuna special (was just ok). Overall, we had a nice time and will go back if in the area
