- JJoelPhiladelphia County •11 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoA charming, bustling room in the otherwise closed Frenchtown Inn, Finnbar appeared to this visitor to be a special place for locals, who packed the bar and the dining room on a Monday night. The menu is not extensive, with about four items in every category. Choosing was difficult, but we enjoyed each of our choices. We started at the bar with two varieties of gin and tonic (one each) along with a bowl of spiced peanuts. Once in the dining room, we started with glasses of champagne, then we each had a salad, one of "little gems," the other cucumber and zucchini. For mains, a pork shoulder for one, with a nice Pinot noir, and a mushroom ragu with fennel on the side for the other, with a French blend called, with a nod to French poetry, La soif du mal. Dessert was a shared Honeymoon almond cake. A fine time was had by both of us. Despite the busy room, the service was attentive but not hurried.More infoFinnbarPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Frenchtown•4.8
