Beauty & Essex has an innovative design that starts in the restaurant’s entrance, a well-curated modern-day pawn shop replete with a saxophone, boom­box, quirky artifacts, vintage treasures, and an eclectic array of “one-off” pieces of jewelry. Continuing past the pawnshop, guests encounter a grand, circular staircase wrapped around a two-story custom chandelier, but only the adventurous will discover all that Beauty & Essex has to offer.     Nami Nori continues to be our go-to for fun and elevated casual hand rolls. We were celebrating impromptu a promotion at work on this occasion and the team was so kind as to recognize the achievement with complimentary glasses of sparkling wine. We sat at the temaki counter, and the chef was friendly and accommodating, adjusting the wasabi level ever so slightly (downward) as we went along our progression of the signature set. Overall a great experience, as always.

    We had a wonderful experience, thanks to the amazing food and service! The beef tartare was particularly delicious and our server did a great job of recommending an assortment of dishes that would be varied and filling. To top off the evening, the chocolate cake was a perfect way to celebrate my husband’s birthday.
