The name “Ichoume” comes from the address of this street. Ichoume is located on ‘1’ Harbour Street, Darling Quarter. That’s why we named the restaurant “Ichoume” (Choume is used for addresses in Japan. It's a way of breaking a municipality into districts. 丁目(Choume) is ‘city district’, so ‘1 choume’(Ichoume) is ‘1st [city] district’).The design concept of the restaurant is a hangout for adults.The menu is supervised by AKIKO ISHIKAWA, who has accumulated her career in many restaurants. Gin & Cocktail Bar The original 1840s sandstone walls of the building Frank Mac’s now occupies a 120-person capacity bar which flows from outdoor seating on George Street, across two levels and into a back courtyard. Whereas the downstairs space feels cosy and intimate, dotted with vintage leather banquettes, dark jade and light orange velvet armchairs, low tables and a fireplace, the ground level you’ll walk into off George Street will reflect the energy of the bartenders working behind the almost five-metre-long oak bar. A handful of bar stools provide the perfect vantage point to take in the cocktail mixology while the dark velvet curtains, worn leather banquette seats and cosy fireplace of the ‘Snug’ provides groups of up to eight with a private space to retreat and relax.

Babylon Rooftop accepts reservations all year round with seasonal minimum spends. Please refer to the booking widget and your specific date for the minimum spend. We take groups of 15-30 guests.     I came here to celebrate my birthday, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome and taken care of. Our waiter, Esteban, was amazing, attentive, and genuinely made the experience feel special. His service truly stood out and added a personal touch to the night. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. We ordered a variety of small and large sharings, and everything was cook to perfection and beautifully presented. The beef skewer, in particular was the best I’ve ever tried, incredibly tender and packed with flavour. I’ll definitely be recommending this place to friends and family. Whether it’s for a celebration or just a great night out, this restaurant delivers on every level!

    We had a lovely experience. The food and the service was lovely. Meal was just delicious. The jazz pianist was wonderful too!!

    Amazing little bar. Staff were wonderful and very helpful with cocktail decisions. All the food was great, definitely glad we chose to eat and have a few drinks here.
