As well as intimate and cosy meals for couples or small groups, we are also a noted venue for group bookings, including cocktail classes, birthdays, hen parties, and weddings - all of which may be combined with a two/three-course meal, buffet, or something more bespoke.     Reliable spot with bowling green views. In a trendy conservation area. Certainly unique to Southend. Away from the usual seaside type of eateries. Hidden spot we go to here from east London. Food always fresh, locally sourced. Sunday roasts are a treat and one for the classic quiet ambience of the former bowling green clubhouse. Akin to what one expects from independent gastro pubs or bistros in Islington and Greenwich. Except prices are reasonable, the decor is definitely unique and you can go to the beach and amusements after. Must be my 5th time here now.

    Great food. Very tasty. Only thing that spoilt it was group of people shouting at each other rather than talking. Lots of swearing which I felt uncomfortable about as had our 6 yr old grandson with us. And very loud music playing.
