The service & food were fantastic and I’d definitely recommend coming to the Merryfellow. We were distracted by the 4 kids who kept running round the whole pub loudly (kids will be kids) whilst we were trying to eat which was the only detractors. Will be back for another meal & visit soon.

A Night to Remember at The Victoria, Cheltenham Ohhh it was lovely , truly, honestly, heartwarmingly lovely. We celebrated my best friend Lynn’s birthday dinner at The Victoria, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. From start to finish, it felt like we were wrapped in a big, beautiful hug of good food, warmth, and kindness. The ambience? Soft lighting, elegant charm, and just the right level of calm, classy without feeling stiff, cosy without feeling crowded. We walked in and instantly felt like we belonged there. Now the food… where do I begin? Every single dish was a dream. Beautifully plated, full of flavour, and made with so much care. You could taste the love in every bite. We kept looking at each other like, “Is this real?” It was that good. Lynn was beaming the whole time, and as her best friend, seeing her so happy made me feel so proud. She deserved a beautiful evening, and The Victoria gave her that and more. And let’s talk about the staff, so friendly, so thoughtful, and so genuine. They treated us like we mattered, and made Lynn feel like a queen on her special day. Little touches like that stay with you. If you’re thinking of going, don’t hesitate. Whether it’s a special occasion or a quiet night out, The Victoria makes moments feel magical. We’ll be back, with full hearts and hungry stomachs. ❤️

Another excellent meal on a punishingly hot day. Two of us had the monkfish, which came with a very well judged saffron sauce, mussels, creamed potatoes and broccoli (rather then asparagus as advertised). The other tucked in to the sirloin and braised beef shin, with French fries and broccoli. For dessert, we all enjoyed the baked Alaska with fruit compote and ice cream - just right for the weather. Service was very friendly, prompt and efficient.

Excellent food, really creative menu very well executed and presented. We had the tasting menu which really showed off the chef’s strengths across a range of dishes from scallops to lamb to an excellent mushroom risotto and beyond.

Lovely meal and well looked after by staff. Had to ask to be moved due away from a noisy table, but the staff dealt with the situation seamlessly.
