Butterjoint is a comfy bar and restaurant located in North Oakland. Our welcoming and eclectic atmosphere is appropriate for almost any occasion - whether it be meeting a friend for a drink, celebrating an important event, or relaxing after work. Our menu is a mixture of familiar Pittsburgh foods (think pierogies, hamburgers, French fries) and French bistro classics (beef tartare, raclette, mussels), and seasonal classics that come and go throughout the year. We put care into our vegetarian dishes too, including making our own tempeh, falafel, and veggie patties from scratch. Menu items change frequently--usually every day--and reflect many long-standing relationships we have with farms and breweries in our region. In addition to reservations, we also have a thirty seat bar that is first come, first serve. We don’t know exactly how old the bar is, but it’s at least seventy years old (probably older) and very cozy. Our friendly bartenders are here to make something you like.

    Terrific food, drinks & dessert. Our server, Nicole, was wonderful and funny and kind. The branzino was the best I’ve had anywhere, and the short rib was flavorful, savory & melted in your mouth. Great bar w great mixed drinks. Cool decor. It was our first time there and we will be back! (Pretty loud though)

    Food was very good, had Banzino with golden mashed potatoes. Hubby had salmon salad. Dessert was the raspberry cheesecake which was to die for!! Great location and experience. Serious waitress that made great recommendations.

    We love meat & potatoes for date night. Bar seating is nice but we like the high top tables. Brianna was great she knows the menu and she made dinner more fun! Can’t wait to go back
