In 1976 Michael Garman returned to Brighton and opened IL Bistroafter being inspired by the Italian and French culture and cuisineduring his travels to the Provence and the western coast of Italy.His goal was to open Brighton’s first Mediterranean steakhouse.For the first time, Brightonians were able to order fresh pasta,arancini, dry aged beef, tiramisu and negronis.49 years later and now being operated by Michael's son Abe,IL Bistro still stands by the same principles, using local suppliersand produce, fresh ingredients and the best available dryaged British beef. Beautifully arranged over three floors, Bohemia delivers a full lunch and dinner menu that includes both large main dishes as well as small tapas-style plates and sharing boards. We are proud to say that all of our dishes, sauces and recipes are freshly produced in-house by our team.There are many seated areas within Bohemia’s quirky interior, including The Library and The Snug.     Highly recommended for a couple or friends looking for a special culinary evening. The tables are well spaced, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the array of dishes are both delicious and expertly prepared. Settle in for a taste adventure.

    Fabulous food. Delivered quickly and piping hot. Great using a tick list to order. Waiter advised amounts to order. Even questioned we might have too much bread. Friendly and attentive. Had to catch a train so missed out on the free limoncello. Will definitely be back

    We went for a special occassion and had a beautiful meal, all freshly cooked. They also catered for "gluten free" guests which 1 of us needed. We'd definitely go back!

    Rally nice meal and drinks before we went to The Dome. The bar is well stocked and there is a great cocktail menu and the drinks were made well. The food was good value for money, prepared really well and brought out quickly. The service was the highlight - just very nice and friendly people who really did a good job of making us feel like they were invested in us having a positive experience. First visit and we’ll come back for sure.
