We have been to the Pluckemin Inn several times over the years and as always the service was outstanding. I had the swordfish while my girlfriend had the salmon and we shared a tuna pokey appetizer. All dishes were excellent and prepared perfectly. We shared a dessert, plucky cake, this is where it fell short. This was below average at best. A little bit dry and the buttercream frosting was not creamy at all, but rather stiff and a bit dry as well. The cake tasted as though it was left over from a few days earlier.

Service was slow to start. Appeared to be preoccupied with other things. A person who seemed to be owner or manager intervened and service improved . Waved corking fee as compensation for poor start. Shrimp and pasta had a delicious sauce.
